30,000 seat custom built outdoor stadium in Vegas. Has not been done since 1982. Would be great publicity for Boxing.

The obvious answer is that there isn't the demand to justify such a facility. The usual justification for holding fights in Vegas is that the host casino gives you a wedge of money. If you were looking to hold a fight in a stadium, that justification is gone and there are better locations all over the place.

Apparently the MGM has offered to build a custom arena for 30,000+ just to host this fight

Wrong. An outdoor stadium is being considered in Vegas came straight from Arum's mouth in an article posted on here. They could build it in a Casino parking lot (which they have done in the past) and still get the money. This is going to be a huge fight. 16,000 seats is not enough for the demand.

Because no sports league will put a team near Vegas because of the gambling (and the history of fixed matches in the US), and there isn't enough money just in the boxing to justify building a huge stadium.

    Madison Square Garden deserves consideration.

MGM will pay a ludicrous site fee, more than 100 000 cheap seats will generate thats for sure

Arran was asking why there wasn't a purpose built stadium in Vegas. And my answer told him why. A temporary job in a casino car park is a different matter entirely.

A site fee will be payed by the hosting casino. MGM has already offered to build a custom stadium. What is going to generate more money? 16,000 seats inside the MGM Grand or 30,000 outside in a custom built outdoor arena? Site fee would be the same for both.

Dont think the Filipino people could take it if Mayweather schooled, KO`d or even won close vs Pac in their homeland.
