These numbers aren't surprising ..This was expected to be huge .The Mayweather fight will surpass this one .

Manny's draw has really sky rocketed in the last few yrs ..Amazing Boxing is no where near dead ..

I hope you are wrong! For the sake of saving this fight. I think if PAC outshines Floyd we won't see this fight happen. Unless Roach and PAC disregard the PPV numbers and say 50/50 is fair. I think it is. Both are draws in this sport....Both are P4P guys....both had that #1 spot and both are BIG names. 50/50 is fair.....but then again.....I just want to see the fight be made.

Regarding JMM as a common opponent:

I don't see how it makes sense to gauge drawing power based on 2 PPVs with JMM. When Pacquiao fought him, Pacquiao was not anywhere in the vicinity of being a mainstream star where non-hardcore boxing fans would purchase the PPV (and it set a record # of PPV buys at a fight below welterweight). When Floyd fought JMM, Floyd was already an established mainstream attraction from De La Hoya, Hatton, WWE, and Dancing with the Stars.

How do you explain Arum overstating the Pac-Hatton PPV numbers, and then when it was learned it did'nt do nearly what he said, refusing alltogether to release them to the public????

Notice that there is a question mark in the title in that article......which signals that its just a rumor and not official numbers coming in.

Mayweather doesn't need to make excuses for nothing, if anything that would make him extremely happy knowing both him and Pac will bring on the biggest event in boxing ever and make the most money ever out of it. You guys just think Mayweather is playing a "war" game about PPV numbers, I assure you if his opponent makes a lot it helps motivate him more knowing the money will be insane. Why did you think anyone who's ANYONE called DLH out?, they know how much money there is to make there and that motivates them as hell.

To be fair, Pac fans were the ones with endless excuses about how Marquez/Mayweather numbers are fake and about how they will be celebrating when that fight, as they predicted, fails against a UFC circus show.

no doubt about it floyd WAS the bigger PPV star than manny- his prior ppv numbers are refutable- you can say that it was economy- but then how about his marquez fight.
you can say that oh he got to them before pac did- so pacs numbers were lower against beaten guys- but then - again - look at what he did against marquez- whom pac beat before.

    BUT

that was then. that was before he fought cotto. his star wattage was nt quite as bright as floyd was in the states before the fight- but now i d say his draw power is at least on par. this was the fight to make him a household name in the states. he s much bigger worldwide though- so that needs to be taken into consideration also.

a question- they split revenue based on us ppv numbers- but how about international ppv?? does manny get all the ppv rev in the philipines?? or do they split the us revenue say 60/40 floyd and international 60/40 manny.

i say do it like that. they should take
    20 million guaranteed each.
then floyd take 60 percent of american ppv to mannys 40 percent
manny take 60 percent of international- floyd takes 40 percent.
golden boy takes 10 percent of floyds purse as his promotor- mayweather prod takes his other 10 percent.
top rank takes mannys 10 percent plus any other deals they have.

    all in all?
    everbody gets ****in rich
plenty of pie to go round. who cares how they cut it. as long as its somewhat even- everybody should be happy. when your making 70 million - whats 3 million here or there - more or less. they should both swallow a bit of pride- and do whats called compromise.

It wasn't Arum, a writer took Arum's quote in regards to the DLH-Pacquiao fight.
