Smashing left hook so simple and so effective.....i cant see how people defend this.

Hatton had the backers and the fanbase to take on anyone at anytime. he didnt....only time he risked was against Kosta, Mayweather and Pacman......the Kosta fight is a gimme......as he had to take the step up at one point.....as his fans/boxing world were getting sick of his WBU reign......and the Mayweather and Pac fights.......hardly gonna turn that down. 20 mill a pop......

Looking when he was WBU champion the only thing i can think of keeping them apart from fighting might have been warren as he was promoting both. Looking as his record at WBU level he had basically fought most domestic rivals even Smith got a title shot. Anyone know when Witter split from Warren?

Well, with the greatest of respects when you heard the clamour you must have been stood between LHL, Me, Juniors mum and his girlfriend. I've seen upwards of 70% of Witters fights live and can honestly say I never heard anyone outside of Witters fans calling for this fight. Revisionism is all well and good, but please don't use Junior as a stick to beat Hatton with, he (Witter) deserves better than that. :deal

I think he might have done quite well in your mythical 130-140 lb division.

If you have to invent new weight divisions and close others down in order to put down a fighter then he can't have done too much else wrong....

:-( There was no way on Gods green earth that Hatton would have taken on Witter after Mayweather...the only time that this fight made any sort of sense to Hatton was around the time he took on Thaxtoin, and Junior was fighting Judah.

me, i don't give a **** what anyone says, hatton was a throw back, going forward slugging away, body punching was perfect in his old days against b+ fighters, dident give a flying fook if he took 2 to land 1 hard shot to the gut, loved him,how i like me fighters,****ing fight not run away and counter(but countering to me is bobbing, weaving, slipping punchs, then countering, not legging it around the ring)
at the end of the day,the reason hatton is like he is ,is becouse he took so many.
i agree with ranger about his fans, since when have man city had a few million fans:nut

    Some Man City fan, eh.

can't believe that people still think Hatton is a genuine City fan, and not just cunningly manipulating a large and success-starved fanbase to his own gain.

Because he's a boxer who claims to be a man of the people. I suppose you'll agree with Floyd if he prices himself out of the fight with Manny

The boxrec forum was in uproar clamouring for the fight when he lined up Lazcano and Paulie M, I also heard this forum was (but I didn't post on here at the time) and Bunces Boxing hour was all over it. It was a massive all-British fight that should have happened IMO.

What you on about 'Witter deserves better than that'? Junior himself has done more than his fair share of Hatton bashing, due to Rickys refusal to fight him :deal:deal

No disgrace in losing to two ATG's in their prime, Hatton showed he had balls by taking those fights because he could have just kept his 0.

Hatton's a top man, I have a lot of respect for what he has achieved.

Yeah you're right...... the disgrace came when he ducked Witter for a decade

Perhaps if Witter had done something else other than call Hatton out all the time.......

He just made himself look like a prized **** IMO.

Granted Hatton should have fought him, but when there was easier money to be made against bigger name opposition - after all, boxing is a business.

I'd hardly say he ''ducked him'' for a decade either. After Witter's pathetic ''effort'' in the Judah fight, why should Hatton fight him - he fought Jason Rowland and Eamon Magee, who were both more proven at the time than Witter.

The only real time Hatton ducked him was between the Mayweather and Bradley fights - even after Witter won the WBC, Hatton had already signed to fight Urango with a view to taking on Castillo, after the Castillo fight the Mayweather one was nailed on.

Let's see, challenge for a second linear crown against an ATG, earn **** loads of cash, or remove a boil from your ass and make not nearly as much money.
