Freddie Roach: "I want the (Mayweather) fight at 145"

145 lbs. makes sense and if one camp wants to make it higher or lower than 145 then they have to be penalized or has to make concessions.

FR – The biggest challenge will be to get Mayweather to agree to the terms of the fight. I would like to see the fight at 145 lbs. and Mayweather will go for 160 lbs. The terms of the fight would have to have a clause that includes penalties for coming in overweight. He needs us, so if he wants to fight at a heavier weight then he will have to pay for it.

He didn't weaken Cotto. Cotto fought Clottey at 146. A weight of his choosing. So your gonna tell me 145 is the reason Pac destroyed him?

 

This is the biggest fight in boxing. If Roach ****s this thing up over 2 pounds, i'm going to be pissed. Floyd won't fight at a catchweight that doesn't give him an advantage. He proved it last fight. The fight should be at 147, no bull****, no excuses.

 

as some of you are saying now is the time Roach and Pacman have to let go of the catchweight stuff.

 

But I do agree that if he is defending the WW belt, then his opponent should have the right to fight at 147 or below.

 

Raoch sounds very reasonable to me. The fight should be made at 145. It is fair and just.

 

I think the conditions will be the same as the Pacquiao-Cotto fight. The weigh-in weight will be set at 145 lbs. and there's $1 million dollar penalty for every pound overweight. The fight will be called off if someone weighs over 147 lbs.

 

Floyd won't accept those terms. Thats crap. If Manny and Roach push this catchweight ****, it could look very bad for them. Their bull**** would be the reason the biggest fight in a while didn't get made.

this is all just mind games - roach wants 145 because he knows pac can only make 145 maximum and they also know due to the marquez fight that if floyd agrees to a catchweight and cant make the weight he wont make the weight. with all the talk over who gets how much for the fight it is an easy way for team pac to make a couple of extra mill if floyd ignores the catchweight. Funny how he has said this now though cause at the post fight conference he said he would let pac fight floyd at the ww limit as floyd ignores the catchweight anyway
