Haha, well maybe "fight" was too strong a word. He was calling us keyboard warriors (I'm aware of the irony) so I made a video, to show my face, and said I'd come to his gym to spar him.

He then decided he was becoming a kickboxer and there was the Nino incident. The guy's a total loser and I'm bored of him now. The kid will end up in a shallow grave before long.

 

The funny thing is, as you've alluded to on many occasions I can see, he genuinely believes the things he says - THAT IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER LIVING IN DOWNTOWN LA

Surely there will come a day when he mouths off to some hoodlum and he will reep the consequences.

I think Floyd is a *****, his comments about Emanuel Steward before the Marquez fight were totally classless and uncalled for, I really hope Pac sparks him. :good

 

Lets face it Ali was a ***** and if it wasn't for his limericks and the character he showed in the ring he probably would have been hated by the worlds population including the majority of real boxing fans... sugar ray was also an arrogant ***** but because of his performances in the ring he is thought of as a legend.

My point is this, I think the majority of real superstars/hall of famers need an arrogance to compete at the highest level and deal with the hype that surrounds them. Mayweather Jr now needs to prove his worth, if he beats Pacquaio he will rightfully be undisputed and known as a legend IMO

 

Ali beat people that he wasn't expected to do... just like Pacquaio!

The difference, Chibber, is that while Ali and Leonard were cocky *******s, they wanted to fight the best. Was there anyone worth fighting at heavyweight that Ali didn't fight? ****, he even fought Holmes when he was ravaged by Parkinsonism.

Leonard was the same - he fought Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. He beat a series of decent opponents, who were generally proven at the weights he fought at. Against Hagler, he moved up in weight, after three years retired, to face the number one middleweight in the world. He took on big challenges - high risk, high reward.

Floyd retired for nearly two years and beat a much smaller man. He has avoided anything resembling a real challenge since fighting Judah, who had already lost twice and was as inconsistent as he was talented. His arrogance is hard to take, because he's done nothing to justify it.

Can't disagree with any of that but I think the reason he has come out of retirement is so he can prove himself as one of the greats. I thought he showed more humility after the JMM fight, in fact, he's been a changed man since Hatton... maybe he saw what real support was after seeing the supporters travelling from the UK and creating the atmosphere they did. I'm just happy to see him back in action to be honest, if he had retired when he said he was going to then I would agree with you but he's back and obviously feels he has something to prove

To be honest when he 'retired' I thought the only fights left for him were Cotto or Marg but I thought (and still do think) that he'd beat the pair of them fairly easily.

Given the developments lately then Pac is the obvious big one. I agree with whoever said Mosely. For me if he beats these two (ie the best fighter around in Pac and the best natural welter in Mosely) then he gets his kudos. As it stands he gets my respect for his acheivements but he can still acheive more.

I think we've lost Williams to the upper weights for the duration now, but if he can still make 147 then I would give Floyd massive props for fighting him. To be honest though that is the lose lose fight for Floyd. High risk and low reward.
