Hatton 'set for Marquez showdown'

**** that mate, this will be the only chance I get to see the great Marquez in the flesh. I'll be getting my tickets sharpish.

At 140? Marquez is slowish above 130 for crying out loud. He should be at 135 and try to end his career with a big fight there.

Marquez should be able to dominate Hatton, even at 140. He's too technically sound and has a MUCH higher boxing IQ than Hatton.

 

Both fighters are nearing the end of there careers that being said i do expect a good entertaining fight but if either fighter truly beleives that winning this fight sets them up for a shot at lb for lb king pac or number 2 floyd then they're deluded. Hatton at this moment in time is the biggest i've ever seen him, he's had two bad ko's and has been involved in too many wars. Marquez on the other hand i dont think belongs at 140 at the lighter weights he carried speed and strength enough too trouble anyone but at 140 seems less effective. Of course he has only fought Floyd around this weight but for me he dosn't look that great. Too chose a winner is difficult but i'd be slighlty edging towards a hatton win. Marquez is a ring genius but not packing enough too ko hatton and if you can't ko him it will be hard too beat him.

 

That the way I see it too, big question marks in this fight....marquez would probably come in as a slight favorite....

If hatton has anything left, and is not completly shot...I would pick him to beat a much slower older marquez.....hatton, who technically is a better pressure fighter then juan diaz IMO....but if marquez is the guy from the diaz fight against a shot hatton, ricky goes lights out in 6 or less...

 

Hatton should call it a day.

 

honestly...i'd like to see ricky the day before he breaks for camp. if he is still fat and out of shape, then that's not good. he can't be cutting all that **** weight in camp. he needs to start taking some of it off now. to melt down to 140 is gonna take a lot out of him. if he really puts his best foot forward and comes to the fight really in shape and healthy...he's got a shot.

having said that, a lot will also depend on how marquez's punches affect ricky b/c marquez will land. ricky lunges in a lot and marquez is an excellent counter puncher. paulie was hitting ricky when ricky would lunge in but paulie is feather fisted. will marquez's shots have more of an affect? if so then marquez has a great shot.

either way...i like both fighters and this is a good fight. good payday for marquez (i agree). i'll be watching.
