Don't know if this had been mentioned in the past few days because my internet was shut off, but I seriously hope he steers clear from this kid. I'd hate to see Hopkins go out on a lose and I'm damn near certain he would lose this fight. I see him getting worn down and getting stopped late.

Keep you're fingers crossed ESB.. I will

I think Hopkins is smart enough to know who he can and can't beat at this point in time and what type of fighter he should and shouldn't get in the ring with.

It's not about making mistakes, its about the youth and reach. Looking back it is a pretty bold statement in saying that Hopkins will be put away, but this fight just has bad news written all over it. I bet Hopkins has averaged at about 50 punches per round in his last fight. No way could he hack would Pavlik brings. Even if he did throw a higher volume of punches than in his last fights, he is only wasting more energy than he is use to. I just don't see how he could walk away with a W against Pavlik. If he fights the way he has been for the past few years it won't be enough, and if he throws more punches than usual it would be asking too much from his 40+ year old body IMO.

The reasons why I thought Hopkins had trouble with Taylor was because of the youth, speed, and size. He knew that if he would had turned it up a notch he would have gotten hurt or caught with something. He had to pace himself more than ever in those two Taylor fights. Pavlik only emphasizes this theory.

The reason Pavlik had a high out put against Taylor is because Taylor elected to box ..Against Hopkins it be a lead right then a hold over and over again ..Hopkins is crafty as hell he has the ability to take a fighter jab away as well as frustrate them ..Unless Hopkins eventually gets slowed down by father time I don't see how the Ghost beats him ..

I think people are being a little too optimisitic about Hopkins right now. I think a young and active fighter can definitely beat Hopkins. That's his cryptonite right now because that will keep him at bay somewhat. JT is a perfect example of that. Just JT's activity alone kept Hopkins from coming forward in some rounds.

Hopkins is great right now but not against every type of fighter IMO. He needs to fight guys who are slower and have a low work rate so he can pick his spots.

If he cannot even defeat a Pavlik level fighter anymore, then he is by no means 'p4p' worthy.

If Pavlik continues on his current path, there is a very good chance that he'll be an ATG. This is especially true after he crushes Kessler.

I'd hate to see Hopkins fight Pavlik. Pavlik is a very exciting fighter and Hopkins can make evry fight boring with his constant clinching. I wish the guy would just go away.

As much as i would like to see Hopkins get beat for all the boring fight he has put us through i think he would dominate Pavlik. He is so damn crafty. you know he is not going to stand straight in front of him and brawl he is gonna clinch his way to a victory and just frustrate Pavlik.

  12. Hopkins at 42 im sure knows his limitations, a 25 yr old kid with an iron jaw and an insane workrate would be to much to overcome, Hops is fearless so don't rule it out, he's also never been stopped, so IF it does happen you can't help to see the old man suffer a 1 sided beating, and a lopsided decision defeat..:deal

If Hopkins came to 160 or 168 to face Pavlik he would lose.

yep at 160-168 he gets completly demolished, the kid is too busy in his fights and put too much pressure and has the tools to beat hops badly at this stage, HOP needs to stay away from this fight
