hatton trainer?

Ive said in other threads, Billy Graham suited Hattons style of boxing, but its doubtful the rift will ever be healed, I don't know enough about Lee Beards skills as a trainer but have met him and he seems a nice guy however experience counts so Jimmy Tibbs may be a good call, did well with Nigel Benns style. If Ricky does box again he needs to get Kerry Kayes back on board as for the Pac man fight Ricky didn't seem to have any strength and looked beaten already when he weighed in

 

You Sir are a complete moron and one of the reasons why Hatton is disliked by many fight fans.Hatton was only beaten by Pac and PBF because they were the only top prime fighters he ever got in the ring with.........Its not rocket science and he didn`t compete in either fight he weas outclassed from start to finish in both infact a club fighter could probably have done better in those fights.

There is no way on earth that Hatton can beat Marquez no matter what weight they fight at or even if Parris referees the fight.

Hatton will get brutally destroyed and there is a chance his future health could be put at risk as he has nothing in his armoury that will trouble a real top drawer fighter like Marquez.

If morons like you are happy to see Hatton get seriously hurt just for the sake of singing "theres only one Ricky Hatton" one more time then I feel sorry for you.

 

True, it seems to be Beard's style that won out over Mayweathers in that fight.

More worrying was Beards description of the knockout punch as "little more than a wild swing"

If it was time for Graham to go then Ricky only did half a job by keeping Lee Beard.

Technical adjustments - Stop jumping around so much, chin down, hands up and tighter punching technique.

Strategic approach - fight smarter by working behind a jab, work the body form round 1 and punch in combinations when you can.

Really isn't hard. Hattons game is rather terrible but he gets by on being relatively strong, powerful, durable etc

As good as Floyd and Billy are in teaching their styles, they are yes men who never stopped to teach ricky good technique.

ricky lost to the two best p4p fighters of his era. are you forgetting he beat tszyu and castillo, as well as numerous titlists and contenders. i have no interest in hearing your excuses for every fight. ricky is a talented fighter, who lost to the best cos his game is caught wanting when it gets down to the technical stuff.

Once that bell goes it's only him in there with those guys, if he chooses not to (or can't) implement what has been done in the gym.....

To me, it's his lack of ring savvy and mental strength that are his shortcomings. Sometimes when a sportsperson/team (in any sport) loses, they go into denial (Hatton) or they go back to the drawing board and look to improve (Holyfield, say).

Hatton, if he is to carry on, needs to learn those lessons and come back stronger in that sense.

 

I think Hatton is too energetic for Manny's style of fighting. Yes he needs to sort out his defense and charging blindly in, but he's not going to calm down enough for Manny's style.

Theres no big man verbals here,the nonsense is coming from the Hatton fans still in denial who still think Tsyzu and Castillo were in their primes.

There is also this blind idiotic faith that Hatton can change when he is in his 30`s.When Hatton gets hit he reverts to type and always will.

If he is fighting an old man in front of his own fans, a washed up turd like Castillo or a handpicked fighter like Malignaggi who cannot hurt him then he will prevail.

Marquez has been in a few wars but he is still a top class fighter and in far better shape mentally than Castillo.Everything points to Hatton getting a beating and risking his health.

I would rather see Hatton retire and concentrate on his promoting and after dinner routine than risk getting severe injuries that could ruin his and his families future happiness.

I am not Hattons greatest fan but it seems to me that the majority of his real fans dont care about him getting seriously hurt because they want to sing "theres only one Ricky Hatton" one last time.

Tsyzu and Castillo are always branded about as notable scalps when infact their best days were long gone.

Still when Hatton risks serious injury and gets spanked by Marquez infront of his own fans those fans will argue that Hattons legend is even greater because he has been whooped by three great fighters who happen to be the only three great fighters Hatton fought who still had desire.

Maybe emmanuel stewart,hatton has to tighten up his defence.its crazy at that level. In regards to lee beard im not sure he has no experience but ricky likes him and he mite be ok as an assistant trainer to emmanuel stewart.

 

Why would Manny Steward want to get involved with Hatton? Manny knows that you cannot polish a turd.
