Wow Ricky is actually possibly taking a risk? If he fights JJM Marquez then fair play, as normally he takes on a fighter with a NAME way past there best or if he goes into a fight with an ELITE then normally its becuase the money is far to great to say no. Love it if he took on the likes of Marquez, Witter, Bradley and Khan in 2010......why not plenty of money to be made.....he will always draw a crowd and all the bigger/better boys are fighting it out at 147. Go on wicky shut our mouths will ya.
Getting 2 fights out of him next year would be very very lucky let alone 4. He'll take ages to get into shape for this one so I assume it'll be June or something before he fights, then after the fight he needs his 8 holidays and junk food and drinking binges.
So, you criticise Hatton for taking on fighters who are past it and you also critiscise him for taking on the very best out there :think What exactly is he supposed to do?
So tiresome it really is.......i havent got time to write essays out every time for people like you ok. Hatton was a good fighter and i never said he was not, but he was a good fighter with huge backing and a carefully managed carrer maximising situations perfect for him. His risks in his carrer amount to just 3 so far. His first title fight......was a gimmie......he had to take the fight as people were starting to get pissy with him and so that does not help his brand now does it. His fight was in his hometown and with a referee that favoured him. He won and congrats for that.......but from then untill the Mayweather fight....he handpicks guys, the best beating a past his prime Castillo......get exposed easily against Mayweather fights another bunch of handpicked guys and then gets brutally beat down by Pac.....Pac has never destroyed any fighter in the last 6 years of his carrer quite the way he did so to Ricky. Its all to do with the specific situation, not general conclusions such as yours. I admire that he COULD possibly take on Marquez becuase his normal route would be to take on someone like Katsidis or convince H. Soto to come from super-feather to fight him. Yet he could go into a fighter with Marquez who isnt shot, and poses a real risk for him losing, im sure he could make the same money fighting a scrub.
Should be a good fight although I'd rather Ricky called it a day. Marquez is a slow starter and not a massive puncher at 140 (if Ricky can still make it) so it would be pretty competitive for 5 or 6 rounds but I just feel Marquez will take over the fight and the ref will jump in and stop it at some point from round 9 onwards.
So you think he's a good fighter and admire him if he takes on Marquez??:good Do you even know what your argueing about anymore?? Your just going on and on....whats your point???
Your actually stupid arent you....never said he wasnt just an overatted one......who in 50 years time will be forgotten.
You honestly believe he'll be forgotten in 50 years time?? Answer that truthfully now,do you think he'll be forgotten? 2 weight World Champion who broke attendance records in his fight with the relatively unknown Lazcano. Your being a bit silly aren't you? You said yourself, you think he's a good fighter:good
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/2737956/Hatton-Its-no-cash-dash.html Gives a fair few hints in that interview that he is going to comeback and it will be against Marquez and I think Hatton has every chance of winning the fight if the fight comes off.
lets be honest. hatton defo acheived more than he probably should but he wont be forgotten in 50 years. 30,000 in vegas for mayweather, 27,000 in vegas for pac, 12,000 in vegas for castillo, 8,000 in vegas for malignaggi, 5,000 in vegas for urango and 4,000 in vegas for collazo. 86,000 fans traveled trans atlantic in the space of 3 years. 55,000 in manchester(post war record). sold out the m.e.n arena at least 15 times(20,000 at a time). single handedly resurected british boxing to the stature of the late 80,s(benn, eubank and collins). i say single handedly cause calzaghe was almost none existant till he saw what hatton was doing as a personable person, then he tried to get a personality and became british all of a sudden and not italian welsh. thats hardley someone who will be forgotten in 50 years, at least not on the british shores
Davro .........Hatton is a cash cow......money talks....hatton himself and boxing will bleed this man for several years to come.
