Exactly.....alot of *******s equate JMM as being purely a boxer......but Marquez is really the prototypical boxer/puncher that likes entering the eye of the storm.
He really likes an opponent who's aggressive like Pacquiao, and its Marquez subtle movements that diffuse fighters like Pacquiao.....

.....also, unlike the prototypical pure boxer, Marquez is a risk taker.......if he's seeing it to easy to land shots, he wants to take bigger bites......
......against Pacquiao it was a bad idea because it opens the window for Pacquiao to land a big shot.

Had Marquez been purely a boxer vs Pacquiao (something he can do) believe me, Pacquiao would have never had the opportunity to put him on the canvas.

    Who's a pure boxer????
Exactly, Mayweather jr.....bad news for Pacquiao!

Though of course Pacquaio would be favored to win, I think Guzman, Valero, and Maidana would all be big risks. Guzman because of his slickness and style and Maidana and Valero because of their capacity to perhaps land a monster shot on Pac.

If Pacquaio were thinking right, he would go straight for Mayweather and assure the mega-fight because he can have either Guzman, Valero, or Maidana in Manila after Mayweather, win or lose.

If it would be on the philippines, then valero would be the logical opponent, no license prob and both under arum, plus it will be explosive to the delight of the fil crowd

There is no doubt that Floyd is a pure boxcer and PAC will have his hands full, no doubt. But Floyd too will have his own set of issues if he does in fact fight PAC. It will be a very interesting fight.....alot of it will be tactical and technical, but in spots....PAC's eventually going to get to him. If only in moments! PAC will force Floyd into a fight. Floyd will have no choice but to fight.

Where guys like Gatti, N'dou, Corely, sosa, Corales and other less talented and phyically gifted opponents, Floyd was able to out speed them in a trading match., we SAW THE VERY BEST of Floyd. But again....then were not Manny. Trading with PAC, who is faster in those moments are where PAC wins his rounds! In my opinion PAC will win a good amount of rounds, but ultimately Floyd fast, quick, intelligent and elusive where he frustrates PAC with the angles and lateral movement.

This is all depending on if Floyd implements that intelligent jab he uses so beautifully! Like I said......PAC will definitely have his moments in there with floyd. We'll see Floyd forced to trade and take punishment for really the first time in his career. But I hope we see Floyd impress EVERYONE by digging deep....fighting out of those spots and finally getting that Hard faught win all the greats have. I'm just saying it won't be easy for Floyd....either man for that matter.

It wouldnt surprise me. When people were saying who else could pac fight other than PBF or Mosley, I thought about this... Pac might want to have a fight in the phillipines at some point. He has a lot of options so I could see him taking a lesser opponent over there for a hometown fight.

Maidana and Valero are definitley DANGEROUS due to their POWER, which poses some risks. But BOTH Maidana and Valero have even LARGER RISKS in facing Manny. Guzzy isn't a talented, physically blessed and dynamic as Manny. No one at the moment is except for Floyd Mayweather, which is exactly why everyone wants to see that fight.

But Maidana, Ed and Joan are not operating with the kind of natural attributes and advantage that come so natural for Manny. PAC's speed, explosiveness, reflexes and overall dynamics will overwhlem all of these guys at 140. Not to mention he is going to be stronger physcally. So yea.....if you got a PUNCHERS CHANCE, that is about the best chance you can have in a fight with Manny, if you aren't working with overall physical advantages like the challenges at Welter weight presents.

Manny would corner Joan at some point and unload. Unfotunately Joan Guzman won't have a chance! HE'S NOT FLOYD! If you got a punchers chance it's better than no chance at all.

I really don't think we are gonna see the Floyd/PAC fight anytime soon. Specifially due to how hard these negotiations are going to be and both Floyd & PAC will need to get tune up fights to keep from going a bit stale due to inactivity. I think it's perfectly safe for PAC to fight Guzzy in Manila if that is one of PAC's dreams. He deserves to fulfil that one before calling it a career.

 Don't be silly corky......Guzzy isn't a pure boxer himself! He's a slick counter puncher....FLOYD is a pure boxer...JAMES TONEY is a pure boxer. When I say PURE I'm talking about their overall ability in craft, skill and INSTINCT!

Joan is not a pure boxer like JMM, Floyd or James. Joan is more flash than anything substance! JMM is a boxer/puncher for the most part.....but he use to be so much more of a pure boxer! Which is why EM and MAB got all the attention earlier in their careers.

Nacho created an incredible boxer! JMM had natural ability, power and more important a pure instinct for boxing! Which is the same pure boxing instinct that Floyd and James both have.

Floyd is just a more cautious and safety first fighter than JMM or James Toney. Later on in his Juan's career, he boxed less and took more risks. See......the only reason guys like EM and MAB got all the attention from the Mexican fans was b/c JMM was more of a "PURE BOXER" earlier in his career. EM and MAB were more typical blood and guts, go all out that the mexican fans expected and appreciated more.

When JMM faught PAC the first time PAC's speed, power and reflexes MADE Juan become more of a puncher. How JMM reacted and came out to outbox manny for a good number of rounds following proved that JMM kind of style that got EM and MAB those million dollar fights.

The rematch.....again....Made JMM even more of a PUNCHER than pure boxer. He thought less.....opened up more and got caught at times which is why he lost to PAC.

ANd I know....I know.....I definitley have a lack of knowledge in the sport of boxing.:lol: Thanks for pulling my card Jeff. That means SOOOO much coming from a knowledgable guy like youself!:good I now have to take a good hard look in the mirror at myself!:rofl:rofl

    You're a ****ing clown!:hi:

Maidana would get destroyed. He's too easy to hit. No chance. Valero? Meh, he has a lot of power but everything else is totally unknown he might be worse than Maidana. Guzman at least is more proven.

Yea...but Guzzy has less of a chance to beat PAC b/c of his lack of power. Every other area Guzzy is decent or good at PAC is better. At least Valero and Maidana can end things in one shot.
