Well if Kessler scores regularly over the 4 first rounds then Ward will have to change that plan. This would be interesting to watch.

Hi CHJ - long time no read.

I disagree with you. In the Miranda fight, Ward showed some poor footwork when pressured back wards. He just went strait back, didn't. throw any punches, and was court more than ones at the ropes or in the corner. And that was vs. Miranda.

Actually - i think that Kessler putting on pressure, a little step forward, cutting of the ring, throwing the jab, 1-2, the long left hook and the 1 strait right hand to the body would do it.............

Wrong. If Ward has to, he'll get right in his opponents chest, like he did Miranda, pushing him around, negating the power of his long arms. I fully expect Ward to apply this tactic vs Kessler.

If I was a German cab driver, then you'd have to feel bad for me. Because then Kessler would be coming to take me out.

Kessler will counter-punch him with ease is he tries that, then Ward stay back.

    Jabadijabadaba...
Kessler has been largely inactive last 2 years bc of a a dispute with form promotor. His opponents during this time has STILL been better than anything Ward has faced apart from Miranda (and even that is not really certain). Sure i have regrets Kessler has not landed better fights for 2 years - but in comparison with Wards achievements its fine.
As for their potential it's an entirely different matter. Can't really judge either of them just by looking at their past few fights. Ward MAY be a future star. He certainly has potential. I just don't see any reason to regard Kessler as crap or easy for someone as unproven as Ward, based on what they've done over last few years. Kessler is only 30. Sure his latest performances hasn't been stellar. But i don't see ring-rust and lack of motivation being a problem this time arround.
I will be very surpriced if Ward wins this - even with the rule-bending home-town antics of his team.

Kesslers not a great counter puncher. He's easily swamped as Calzaghe was able to do.

To be a great counter puncher, you have to have great upper body movement. Kessler does not have great upper body movement.

Wards oly 25, and was injurd for a good while. Comparing there accomplishments would be silly, if not for the fact Wards victory over Miranda is better then anything on Kesslers resume. Im sure Ward would have beaten Sartisan for the vacant belt aswell.

Kessler has great timing and hence is a quite accomplished counter puncher.

Kessler was WBA champ at the age of 25. That does not make him a better fighter than Ward. We'll see tomorrow.

His timings not that good. Hopkins and even ROy Jones jr were able to time Calzaghe coming in better then Kessler was. Hopkins and Jones remained disciplined. Kessler looked frantic and overwhelmed.

He has no upper body movement. He is easy to hit up the middle.
