Per ESPN: "Arum, who represents Pacquiao, was expected to begin talks as early as next week with Richard Schaefer, who heads Golden Boy Promotions and will represent Mayweather in the negotiations."

When did Mayweather Promotions turn into Golden Boy Promotions? Were/are the rumors then true about Mayweather selling out to them to get a cash advance for his IRS/money probs? I just don't know why Mayweather Promotions would not be center stage in potentially the biggest fight ever? If Oscar really did pull this off, you got to hand it to the guy for winning the game of making the most $$$ as a boxer/promoter.

Last I knew, Mayweather and his team always negotiated his deals. Since when did Golden Boy start NEGOTIATING for Mayweather?

Floyd sold himself out to get Oscar to agree to their first fight. Now he is completely owned by GBP which needs prime stars to promote.

wanna open a can of worms? check out the list of shareholders who REALLY own GBP and you might be VERY VERY SURPISED at the findings. Can you say, he's only a figurehead.../ puppet ...

Didn't PBF said that he left Arum because he wanted the business decisions to be made by himself? Why send GBP?

So which is which? Mayweather Promotions or Golden Boy Promotions? or both?

That's how I would put it.

He is represented by GB but he can probably have any say in anything involving him. Unlike other fighters.

I realize Oscar is simply a face and name, but he does get a cut of it.

oscar and GBP wanted a piece of Floyd.

Floyd just signed himself with GBP before the Marquez fight.

GBP side promoted the Hatton fight.

Something like this. I don't think he's actually under contractual obligation with them, but it seems like such a financially beneficial relationship for both parties that they keep working together.

There's no question that GBP has much greater resources than Mayweather Productions and I'm sure Floyd likes to make use of those resources. It still doesn't appear that he's in their "stable" and ultimately he seems to have the final say over who he fights and when.

If Floyd is so big, why would he allow GBP to get a piece of anything? There had to be some catch, since Mayweather had his own promo company. It doesnt make sense for Mayweather to give that up with as much of a $$$ ***** as he is. Unless it means more $$$ for him then acting alone as a promoter.
