Because GBP already has a strong working relationship with HBO and the resources to promote a fight far beyond anything Mayweather Promotions can achieve. Floyd still gets to decide who fights, and win, but gets the benefit of the leverage that GBP has in the industry. GBP gets to promote Floyd's fights, which are huge lately.

Both groups make more money than they would make without working together.

 

It's simply BS. Mayweather probably did all the negotiating for himself (or his team did) but now that he's probably GUARANTEED himself the money he would of have to negotiate for, he doesn't need to do it. He's already got it signed probably that he can't make less than a certain number.


So technically, he negotiated his money already.

 

Your smart enough to realize a certain boxer wont do business with Arum. Which is why he is getting someone to do it on his behalf.

Also golden boy promotions is one of the biggest in the game. There are not a lot of boxers promotion company who could compete at their model when it comes to business and setting up a mega fight.

1) Yes, Floyd talks a lot of bull****.
2) As far as anyone knows he is under no contractual obligation to GBP. He could promote the fight himself and negotiate it himself and likely make less money.

Floyd loves money though, his name is Money, and working with GBP gets him more money. He still gets to decide who and when he fights. Not sure what's hard to understand about this.

If I hire a financial manager that doesn't mean I no longer control my own money.

 

To be fair most people don't have your background of both being a world champ and negotiating big fight contracts...

 

As a lawyer who does this kind of stuff for a living, I can tell you this information isn't public unless someone made it public. If you know where we can get this info, I'd be happy to look (and I'm sure you're right that Oscar isn't the majority shareholder), but I think you're just making **** up to stir the pot.

Floyd loves avoiding the fights that would leave him knocked out. sure he loves green but who don't. You think GB works for nothing for floyd? No. If they gonna protect him they gonna profit from it.
