How did you figure that Groves 'has a glass jaw'? Because he got stopped, (on his feet after taking a second count), at the age of 17 in the amateurs?
The fact is that Groves has been a professional barely a year, and has already equalled if not surpassed Anderson's level of opposition.

Yes that's right the stoppage in the Am's, doesn't matter that he was only 17 he never fought at a high level as a am (bar the degale fight) and he has a stoppage on the record already, I also think he is the kind of fighter who can give it but can't take it, but that's just my opinion. Also as for doing more than Anderson has as a pro groves has been knocking out small middle weights, Anderson has ko guys a lot heavier than supermiddle which I think makes a differance regarding there punch power, it's not andersons fault he's not had a load of fights he made a big mistake signing pro with Barry Hughes and sports network who messed him about and kept him inactive.

Hmm. So how do you explain Manny Pacquiao's early ko loss to a very ordinary opponent? Or that David Tua was stopped in the amateurs?
And Groves's last opponent was a genuine smw. Not great by any means but better than anybody Anderson's got on his resume.

Billy,I'm not trying to belittle it. I was just pointing out why some people have different views on what it means. I still remember jumping around my living room when that final bell went. I know how much it meant to Kenny and I recognise how great it was for him

PS second post on this forum and I already managed to anger someone! oops

Yes and did he ko him?, no so like I was saying tell's us something about his power, what was the guys record anyway? Was he not just a journey man?. Don't start comparing groves to PAC that's just stupid, PAC is a one off, all time great, and PAC was ko by someone wearing pro size gloves not huge am ones, big differance.

    A) The only fighter to have knocked out Makhankov is Victor Oganov, who was going into the fight 22(22)-0, so this suggests that Makhankov is fairly durable at a certain level. Oganov had been a pro some seven years, so for Groves to fight him just short of a year as a pro shows considerable progress.
That Groves didn't stop him isn't proof that he lacks power; he's only 21 - I imagine his power will continue to develop.
    B) The fact that Groves didn't stop Makhankov, and that Makhankov is unquestionably a limited journeyman, doesn't stop him from being a better then anyone Anderson has faced to date.
    C) I was comparing Groves to Pacquiao in terms of talent. I was just merely pointing out that a stoppage defeat suffered as a teen, whether pro or amateur, isn't conclusive proof of a 'glass chin'.
    D) Fine. Pacquiao was stopped as a pro, without a headguard. What about Tua? What about Ali? What about Tyson? All suffered stoppage defeats as amateurs.
Hatton was stopped in a round as an amateur. So was Dean Francis. I can go on and on. So maybe you'd like to retract your statement that Groves has a 'glass chin'.

Kenny is a good big lad, obviously a bit untested, but time will tell

Yeh ok I take it back groves has a rock solid chin he's fought unbelievable guys in his first 7 fights, the fact he was stopped as a am in the aba's against a very average fighter means nothing, the fact he's also been fighting middle/light middles also means nothing he's clearly a massive puncher,**** let's get him in with froch:lol::lol::lol:
