They think he is boring, I know a lot of people who used to watch boxing in the Benn Eubank/Tyson Bruno era and they don't care for his defensive skills, they want to see a fight. I think 99% of casual fans expect a tear up, as you would.

Are you even serious?, Mayweather is the most underrated guy in boxing right now. He was beyond overrated in 2006 and 2007 but in the two years he was off he has been underrated BADLY. People in the press do that on purpose to wake certain athletes up when they know threats are slowly taking their position, in this case it's obviously Pacman who's the threat. All that eventually leads to a mega fight and everyone makes good enough money anda big smile.

Right now people are already saying "Pac by murder", "Pac late TKO", "Mayweather will run and throw zero punches as he always does" and so on. The one who's viewed as "God" right now is Pac, no one else and if there's anyone as #2 then it's Paul Williams or Wladimir Klitschko. That happens to EVERYONE when they don't take a big fight for a long time and Mayweather had only one fight in the last three years so that's normal, Pac has been destroying guys he's not supposed to and no one dreamt he will fight, let alone KO that way.

I can see a thread already.

"When will Mayweather finally step up and fight Joe Calzaghe?"

I know a lot of British fans here that will agree 100%.

Just pray Calzaghe doesn't read this post.

Agustas busted Floyd up a bit, so did Zab and JLC. ANd yes.....Floyd is a true master in the sweet science. BUt it's hard to get busted up when you are constantly avoiding any sign of risk. PAC isn't afraid to use the same natural gifts Foyd enjoys to look for a spectacular KO, where Floyd uses those gifts to high tail it out of there when a risky situation presents itself.

No, of course they don't ... the casual fan is highly impressed by violence and destruction so naturally they choose the most explosive guy, Manny Pacquioa, to completely annihilate the more boring, methodical fighter, Floyd Mayweather.

I can envision flash knockdown, but I do think Manny would get up, and Floyd simply would not go for a kill. He never does, and personally I do not have problem with it, but I think he would have to go for it to get rid of Manny. Personally I see as most likely result close decision, for Floyd, even though I'd prefer Manny to win. How close depends if judges prefer aggression, even if bit ineffective, or ring generalship.

So I disagree with you, but your opinion is definitely valid.

But at the same time, this comes down to competition...

As great as SRL did, he got hit cuz he fought Duran and Hearns...essentially EVERYBODY

Ray got hit cuz he fought EVERYBODY

Ali got hit cuz he fought EVERYBODY

Pep got hit cuz he fought EVERYBODY

Even Whitaker got hit cuz he fought EVERYBODY

    Floyd fought Marquez and Hatton...

    You see the difference?

Disagree...i think Floyd has a better chance of Flooring manny than he did JMM..Manny fights off balance alot of the time...he uses angles to get at opponents...I believe Floyd has a very legit chance at catching Pac coming in

I think so too. But I also think PAC has a better chance at hurting Floyd, dropping him and getting a stoppage than anyone esle Floyd has ever faced. It will be a very interesting fight.

I also think Manny has a very small chance of flooring Floyd...Floyd has much better defense than manny

I juss don't see Floyd taking the risks (as he usually doesn't) and unless he opens up, pac will have a hard time getting decent shots in...I think Floyd will get hit but not flush...Floyd is "to careful" if that makes sense..

than again charlievint....I could be all wrong..>pac is the best in the world and he might show us why come that night

He's that good. His skills are exceptional. But the problem is that he doesn't want to test his skill against top dog of welter which is a SHAME. he instead fight a lightweight champion that was required to jump in 2 division north and worst he didn't complied with the contracted weight. THAT'S a TOTAL SHAME.

You have point with Manny being off-balance, but the thing with the weird angles he uses is that it's not so easy to get a clean counter on it. Plus as I said Floyd might catch him, but I think he won't follow up aggressively enough to take him out.

So KD yes, KO no. Just my opinion.
