Of course he does....But PAC has a lot better Offense than Floyd! PAC will eventually corner the elusive Floyd and make him trade and in those exchanges PAC will get the better of it. Which will give PAC the opportunities to floor Floyd. I'm sure Floyd won't be in the trenches for too long, but he won't avoid PAC's pressure for the entire 12 rounds. I just feel Floyd wont be cornered enough to loose the fight to PAC......but I do believe FLoyd will be in his most difficutl fight winning a very razor thin decision by being fleet footed and using an intelligent jab on the outside to keep ring generalship under his control.

I don't think Floyd will either.....but PAC has great foot work and I'm sure he'll get Floyd cornered which I can't wait for. Floyd and PAC exchanging will be awesome. We'll actually see FLoyd in an actually "fight".

He might even get the better of PAC in some of those spots....I just don't think he'll follow it up even when he does and allows PAC to re-set.

YOu do make sense. I think the problem most have is they look for the opening and with PAC he'll punch anything and everythng to create his own opening. BUt yea.....Floyd will not be in harms way for too long and he'll use his reach and skills to keep PAC at his distance for the majority of the fight.

If Floyd controls the ring he wins the fight. IF PAC can cut the ring off and force Floyd into exchanges we might see in my opinion the upset! I just won't bet on PAC pulling it off. NOt that it would be a huge surprise...just a bigger one than Floyd loosing.

Fair enough. I never said Mayweather would win by knockout, just that I see him getting a flash knockdown at some point during the fight. Manny will get countered and only during the first half of the fight will he be competitive. I dont do ban bets, but this one fight where I will make an exception. I'm about 80% sure Mayweather will win based on being the more athletic, faster, and more skilled, as well as the more elusive fighter to win.

Your very basic casual fan, (I know a lot of them), only wants to see a lot of action. They like to see brawlers. They don't understand it when a fighter tries to set up traps or apply defensive tactics. They just want to see two fighters hammering @ each other. Hell, I know some casual fans who doesn't even know what sweet science in boxing means. I believe that's the reason why they say Pac's fights are more fan friendly than FMJ's.

I misunderstood you about the KO. I do bet, and before the Cotto fight I would definitely bet on Floyd, but now I'm not so sure about it to bet on it. Will decide depending what is the line on him, when the fight will be officially made.

And as for the thread topic, pretty much everyone realizes how good he is. Even his haters don't dispute his quality, but his attitudes and personality.

nice post!!:good there are so many different scenarios with this fight as in many fights...I like Floyd in this fight because he knows how to box "tall"...I think he can circle to his left and stay away from pac's power....He has a nice reach advantage which, unlike Oscar, Floyd will know how to use and follow up with right leads....

It's cool. Im telling you buddy, put your money on Mayweather if he is somehow the underdog. I truly believe Mayweather will outbox/outclass Pac, but will just have wait and see.

Back to your thread question, " Do casual boxing fans even realize how good Mayweather is?"

The answer is I think they realize by now how boring a fighter he is.

WE AREN'T DISCUSSING IF FLOYD IS A "FAN FRIENDLY" FIGHTER...WE ARE DISCUSSING HIS SKILLS... WHAT DOES HIM BEING BORING OR EXCITING HAVE TO DO WITH HIS TALENT AS A FIGHTER AND WHAT HE IS CAPABLE OF IN THE RING??:huh

I hate the ****er, but he is awesome. Unbelievable fighter.

Pacman is too - which is why this fight MUST happen.

Casual boxing fans don't realize beating a 36 yr old Marquez, making him move up 2 weight-classes, and showing up above the agreed upon weight doesn't really count for s***.

Exactly! Floyd will need to use that reach and height to his advantage over the shorter Manny. Which won't be hard b/c Floyd always fights tall even when he's the shorter man. PAC will have his hardest fight on a technical level with Floyd....one that will see him frustrated more than ever. But I do see Floyd getting busted up in his hardest phyical fight with Manny.
