I Need To Improve My Foot Work; I Don't Have Any Equipment At home; I Want To Do It In The Gym And At Home.
That's the best one I can think off. There are also specific footwork drills, but I prefer shadowboxing. At first I work on nothing but movement, later add slipping and ducking, throwing punches, etc. If you can visualise yourself boxing nothing beats it.
Good for someone with experience, but judging by his post he isn't too experienced. He wouldn't know what mistakes to be looking for. I would suggest plyometrics, running cones, etc. You can find great videos on youtube
Agreed. I think shadowboxing reaches its full potential as an exercise after you've been sparring for a while. Until then just moving around with proper foot placement may be better, assuming someone explained how to move in boxing. Here's what I do. Move laterally, pivot, forward, backwards, etc. Then add upper body movement, the little movements that hide both defence and offence. After that do the same while throwing nothing but feints, then add the jab, the right hand, etc.
Get a jumprope... obviously great for footwork Cones or random objects from your house, place them on the floor you can do crisscrosses you can also do parrellel jumps (jumping side to side over an object)..
