the threads about does mayweather have the power 2 back pac up, i think that's not the question because mayweather never backs anyone up.the real question is does he have the power 2 keep pac off of him? zab judah said he doesn't think mayweather will be able to keep him off because he doesn't have the power. We all know cotto is way stronger than money and he wasn't able to weather the storm. BUT mayweather is 10 times smarter than almost any fighter and he can adapt,if you watch money earlier on in his career you'll notice he used to let his hands go and exchange more. If he's going to beat pac(he will imo) he's gonna have to actually FIGHT because he's gonna be in there with a guy who may have his equal hand and foot speed. So running in this fight will be his doom because i think pac can catch him. Pac and roach will have to respect mayweather's counterpunching because even if he doesnt have the great power to go all out and ko pac, his precision is amazing and he can land punches right on the button that he'll never see coming. If we see the usual potshot and run mayweather then 1.it may hurt his chances of winning and 2.just like he said he won't get his respect for winning but he won't get his respect because the way he fought the fight. Us fans love the guys who get in there and fight so if pac goes in there and fights how he normally does and loses a ud because mayweather just won't stop running then nobody is going to care that mayweather won and he won't get his respect because he didn't earn it the way everyone wanted to see the fight.Of course he doesn't care because it's another win and perhaps his biggest payday, but for a guy who complains about not getting his respect for winning then if the respect matters so much he should give everyone the action they're hoping for but he won't because the money means more then putting an exclamation mark on his legacy.rocky marciano will be the only legitimate undefeated fighter because he fought everyone! and with a style that is hard to go undefeated with for someones whole career

Sheesh, use some correct punctuation and spelling if you're gonna write something that long. Or at least use paragraphs. I couldn't even read that ****, so I'll just answer the question...NO, MAYWEATHER DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO KEEP PAC OFF HIM.

He has the power to hurt him,and the footwork and defence to keep Pac off him.

Long enough to win 7 rounds, anyway.

he doesnt need the power of cotto.

Marquez used great pivoting and countered beautifully against pac

I think the key is to make pac miss time and time again.... theres nothing more heart breaking than hitting thin air

Pac will soon hold off the attacking and that will be Roaches biggest worry.

  6. NO- Mayweather dosn't hit that hard and he has brittle hands, more importantly May dosen't even act like he wants to fight anymore i mean 1 fight in 2 years:-(, he's more into the money than anything else..

Paq in the ring has a lust for violence, and loves it that's why he will win..

Yes he does....floyd has a nice jab and when he uses it to the body it gets very difficult to keep coming forward...

I didn't read the jumble of letters... but yes, Floyd has the power to hurt Pacquiao. If Floyd can catch Pacquiao with a well-timed counter while Pacquiao is throwing punches in bunches, he can very well drop/hurt him.

Very good post. Manny has his advantages in this fight. This will be Mayweather's toughest fight, no doubt. Plus, he doesn't do well against southpaws. Money will have to be more active. Potshotting won't work against Pac since Pac is so relentless offensively. De la Hoya made Floyd look ordinary because Hoya kept going after him throwing punches. This could work in Manny's favor since he is a lot more accurate than de la Hoya. Mayweather's best bet is to counter Manny, which Mayweather is so good at. If he does that, he can win.

Who knows after all the punches will be comin very fast and will be very accurate so they mite stop pac. Floyd doesnt necessarily need to keep pac off him. He cud move or sit on the ropes and use the shoulder roll to create counters.
