You must be new to boxing. Las Vegas regularly makes old, shot fighters 2-1 favorites on their opponent's home turf.

    /sarcasm off

Man Ward could have laid Kessler flat on his back for a 20 count in the first round with the first punch and these clowns would make an excuse.

As i said all along when the European fans would go on about Ward not fighting anyone to this point..."every great fighter has had that one fight, that one fight were people said its too big of a step. Why would his camp make that fight. It that situation that young fighter comes out and wins, its called a coming out party"

I didn't know Joe Calzaghe, Enzo Calzaghe, and Enzo Maccenerili were members of the forum. Hi lads.

    No.

I've already given Ward his due credit in two other threads.

    That's Ward, W-A-R-D.

A black dude from California. Currently the best SMW in the world.

This thread was designed to take a dig at Calzaghe.

    C-A-L-Z-A-G-H-E.

A white boy from Wales. The greatest SMW of all time.

Calzaghe retired, quite old for a boxer, and almost a year ago.

So my post was in response to that DIG.

As I said, I gave (and still) give Ward credit for his impressive win tonight. He's the man at 168.

Now, tell me what part of my post was not factually correct.

    Let's see...

    Ward's performance was more impressive.

But Calzaghe was 35 and facing a 29 year old undefeated champion.

Ward was 25 and facing a 31 year old champion who had his wings trimmed by Calzaghe.

Now RJJ had a more impressive victory over Lacy than Calzaghe did.

That doesn't mean that Roy was better (at that stage) than Calzaghe. It just means Joe had done a number on him earlier.

While Joe did not ruin Mikkel to the same extent he demoralized Jeff, he certainly did do a number on his confidence.

So as you can see, Andre did not face the same Mikkel that Joe faced.

Yeah, looks like it's all true.

    Ward, by far.

Interesting to note though, against Calzaghe, Kessler had come out of a consistent fighting calendar for the past few years and had fought some very well known fighters.

Against Ward, he was intermittent, fighting no namers at best.

Ward put on a Bernard Hopkins performance. It was like watching Hopkins vs Pavlik.

Kessler won a handful of clear unambiguous rounds against Calzaghe.

    He didn't against Ward.

That answers the question right there.

He's got those thick Kessler goggles .. they sell them in the ESB lounge (next to the Bute, Calz, & Klit ones).
