If Kessler is damaged goods off of a competitive points loss from four years ago, then he's an even weaker fighter than he was made to look at points tonight. He wasn't stopped by Joe, and he more or less looked like his old self in his in between fights.

How is Ward being 25 suddenly an advantage after the fight? Kessler's edge in experience and edge in physicality and strength were big reasons why he was initially heavily favored to win. Ward probably isn't even in his prime yet.

    You know nothing about boxing.

Calzaghe won the fight with about 3-4 rounds up, and Ward with 2 rounds up.

However, Calzaghe won in a fight - spoiling in way that are legal. No Kessler fan had any problems with that. While Ward 'won' by way of repeated concussion caused by headbuts.

Ward won via repeated glove to Kessler's face, over and over and over and over and over...you getting this?

Noone in their right mind is saying that Joe ruined Kessler is a fight he won by a margin of 3-4 rounds. That would be dumb.

Kessler wasn't ruined by anything but headbuts.

I don't imagine even the mayor of Kessler's hometown could have given Mikkel...a round.

I'm impressed with the domination of Ward, but even more so the dedication of Joe Calzaghe, who has stayed up to 6am to create 9 ESB accounts.

    It was TWO years ago.

And I didn't say he was damaged goods. Those are your words.

I said he wasn't the same Mikkel that Joe faced.

(Older and no longer undefeated. That's indisputable)

Nor was he 'stopped' by Andre. There's a reason you go to scorecards in the case of an accidental headbutt. Or five 'accidental' headbutts.

    Ah, no. He didn't.

He had much weaker competition recently, and he had much less activity.

No need to get your knickers in a knot.

I stated that it was a good win for Ward and that he would, IMO, have won tonight even without the reckless use of his head and that he was now the man at 168.

I took nothing away from Ward.

This thread was not about Ward and you probably know that.

It was a dig at a retired Calzaghe, which is why I even bothered to post.

I know, must have been a lot of work to do all that. Whereas Hopkins fans just have to change their avatars to Ward ones (or whoever else is black, american, and winning at present), job done.

By the way, where in the UK are you from, exactly?
