cry foul all you ****en want, but ward spanked that ass clean and clear.....those butts weren't intentional, the 2nd one was part of his game plan....if you noticed when he was too far to throw and felt that kessler was gonna throw, he would loop under kessler to "in-fight"....beautiful example of it (though ward aint great at it, he clearly made his point that he wasn't gonna let kessler bully him) man i havn't been that pround for a fighter in a long time.... olympic ****EN gold medalist a lot of criticism due to his lack of competition (nobody says every damn olympian needs a world title within 3-4 years) many looked at him as the weakest of the super six underdog kessler thought he was gonna get robbed if it went to the cards man i could go on and on but you guys get the point....ward fought his ****en heart out and took kesslers heart away...leaving him with nothing but desperation, cause clearly his gameplan was also taken from him..... i dont know why many are calling foul...in-fighting is and always will be part of boxing...now, if you dont know how to do it, don't cry ****en foul everytime you're getting uppercutted on the inside......the reason kessler wasn't hitting in the clinch (mainy cause he doesn't know how) was cause he was the one really holding.....when ward did it, he did it to get some work in....when kessler did it he did it to just simply hold.....it's my understanding that if you got a free hand while being held, you can fight your way out of it with your free hand....... man'ol'man what a great ****en night..... poor dirrell, this reminded me of his sad robbery too......
how about when the ref would say "fight out of it" ward would immediately throw a few straight shots right into kesslers mug.....kessler at times acted like a ****en rookie and was hoping for some help.....ward did the damn thang tonight...
Yes. Ward was great tonight and I'm very happy he won. All 3 Americans have proven that they are better BOXERS. The only one that really concerns me of the Europeans is Abraham, but even he is vulnerable as long as someone finds holes in his "defend for 20 seconds, then throw 3 power punches" ring strategy. The only obstacle between Ward and superstardom is Andre Dirrell in the 3rd round of this fabulous tournament.
**** the Nationalist bull****, Ward is an exceptional fighter by anyone's standards, and I knew Kessler had his hands full when I saw him outclass Miranda.
Personally not one of my favorite fighters to watch. I don't like his style but it surely worked for him last night. Its not lke the headbutts turned that fight around. He dominated that fight from the very first round.
