Did Ward Cheat In His Bout With Kessler?

Ward was definitely a little wild with the head but I wouldn't say he was intentionally butting Kessler. More a combination of Ward stepping in on Kessler all night, and Kessler trying to catch him when he did. Should he have been warned more? Yes. Should he have had a point taken away? Possibly. After all, you can be deducted points on uintentional fouls, so why not. Would it have mattered? Probably not.

I'm surprised however that no one thought that the stoppage was a little suspect. Credit to Kessler for fighting through injury but I'm still trying to figure out why the ref took Kessler to his corner when he did. Ward had just nailed him with a big right and Kessler looked hurt to me. Ref stops the action, takes Kessler to the corner, and basically makes it known that he can quit cause of the butt. Nevermind the right that had just landed connected with Kessler's left eye, not the right.

But running in and holding alot, sometimes leaning in with the head...i mean...come on..no help from the ref whatsoever

Kessler's answer to rough tactics was to hang on for dear life and then cry like a baby when it was all over. Way to defend your title Mikkel.

Kessler was brought back to school and was taught a lesson!! boy did he get his ass kick, ya if I was a Kessler fan id be pissed to because he got an ass beating **** he was allmost crying..... kessler does not belong in this tournament what a cry baby he is....:tired

like seriously the ref was terrible, and Ward was just as Dirty.......but with said, it didnt matter at all cuzz Ward was putting it on Kessler ALLLLL night, it was a great performance

off topic but... does any one else wanna give Cotto some extra respect after last night?....cuzz this fight along with the Campbell fight really proved that fighting through vicous headbutts with only half your vision is hard enough, but to do it and win really takes something special

but back on topic, lets all not let his dirty ass tactics overshadow that dominating performance because there was and are plenty of great fighters that are also dirty fighters, Ward aint the first or the last so lets not pretend that he is

Yes, a bunch of headbutts, constant holding, hitting on the break and from what I saw 2 border line low-blows.

And the ref did almost nothing about it, I thought the ref was going to let Ward go on so he could stop Kessler and get 3 points but I was surprised when it went to the cards.

Kessler was outclassed yes, but no one can deny that Ward was using some questionable tactics.
