Wow, i guess there are more Euros posting on this board than i thought. :-( Kessler got completely outclassed. Ward did not cheat. Sometimes these things happen on accident.

    Agreed I voted no.

Because fighting dirty is not the same as flat out cheating.

Nope, I don't think he butted intentionally.

The rest were just smart moves to disrupt Kessler, and it worked. The clinching really wasn't that bad, he hit on the break a bit and to the kidney but these things happen all the time.

    Elbows?

I didn't see any, though I wouldn't doubt it if he did.

What is difference between fighting dirty and cheating?? Could Ward not have perhaps fought clean?

Since when is an accidental clash of heads deemed "cheating"?

This is sour grapes, nothing more.

Ward fought a fantastic fight and thoroughly outclassed Kessler from start to finish.

Kesler suffered ONE insignificant cut BELOW the right eye from Ward's jabs.

He had TWO massive cuts, one of which led to the stoppage, BOTH from two of Ward's FIVE 'accidental' headbuts.

Continuous reckless of the head would not be considered cheating.

However, it definitely did affect Kessler. Both the cuts and the impact.

I didn't vote. I wouldn't call it cheating but it was an extremely dirty performance by Ward. Continuous reckless use of the head that results in serious injury, intentional or not, should be dealt with by the ref.

IF Kessler was going to prevail, it would have been later. I always expected him to be behind after the first few rounds, and to make his adjustments and come on stronger as the fight progressed.

It's hard to make adjustments mid-rounds when your opponent is constantly butting you and opening ditches above your both eyes.

Overall, it was a good, if dirty, performance from Ward and I feel he deserved the victory and proved he has the goods. He had superior hand and footspeed throughout and deserves his belt.

That said, Kessler was thrown off by Ward's tactics and has not faced these kind of circumstances before.

It's very possible that with reflection, adjustments, and a more stringent ref, he could prevail if they met again.

Kudos to Ward for his stunning upset.

He's now the man at 168.

A foul is a foul. Five head butts that the ref admitted he saw is grounds for disqulification even if they were accidental.

The butts were clearly intentional, but what if they were accidental? If Ward is such a rank novice that he can't fight without constant fouling, he should not be participating in a tourney like this one.

No but he fought ugly, but with great sucess the guy notice that Kessler do not like fighting on the inside so He hit and hug and keep trowing while hugging making Kessler very unconfortable. So proprs to him if the fight style for his win was not the best Kessler was very overrated since He beat an
