Diaz's handspeed could prove troublesome for Lopez, but I'd favor the cagey Lopez to withstand Diaz's early assault and then use his strength and power to win by decision or late stoppage.

Lopez is a vastly underrated champion IMO.

Absolutely he is M2S...that's exactly my scenario too by the way...a slow start for Lopez and much for the Diaz fans to crow about, but the resourceful Tony the Tiger would pour it on in a laterounds rally to stop Diaz...Lopez, he was so cool to me..I really enjoyed his fights..the trilogy with John John Molina was great to watch on free tv...yes indeed the man was underrated..

Speaking of Molina, I thought he was a very underrated champ as well.

This is a pretty even matchup? I think Tony was better though at JL he seemed to loose his quickness when he moved up,Diaz has slipped a little but the Diaz of 3 years ago id pick by a close decision, but I would be surprised if Lopez pulled it out, cause I think they are pretty evenly matched

I agree that Molina was underrated, especially at JL,I would pick him to beat many guys that other people hold in higher regard.

John John was certainly underrated as well, and fought very well in all three bouts with Lopez. These two guys made for some great action fights.
