Mexican boxing is going through a similar phase as American boxing, the legends are getting old, but there is more than certaintly a reservoir of great young talent to be found

While I agree that it's foolish to assume that because Mexico doesn't have anyone immediately knocking on the P4P door once JMM is gone they will not have fighters there again soon. History speaks against such a prediction. However, I think the U.S. is in a slightly different situation. Yes, Mosley and Hopkins are old and will likely be gone in a couple years. However, Mayweather is still in his early 30s. Also, Paul Williams and Chad Dawson are already P4P level talents with about a decade left in their careers. Behind them, you have Ward who, while not a P4P level guy yet, should be within a year. Mexico will have someone step up, but the guys that likely will are still at the prospect stage.

The last generation of Mexican fighters is on its way out (the Vasquez/Marquez/Morales/Barrera generation) and the new generation is on its way in: Alfredo Angulo, Saul Alvarez, Antonio DeMarco, etc. It'll take some time but Mexico will ALWAYS have elite fighters.

    Dude,

Go BACK to SLEEP if you are talking about FANTASY fights! We are talking about REALITY not FANTASY or make believe fights! :hi:

Invite UliUli coz he loves to day dream like you! Since he knows there is NO mexican who can KO PAC he would create fantasy fights wherein he sees PAC being KO'd! :rasta:bbb:hi:

Ehmm. Going back to the topic. Mexico has a great history in boxing, they are a ****ing warriors in the ring. But I think the Thread is fair. Most of their greats have already retired and their champions today are not really that remarkable. So, to the Mexicans kindly educate us of who among the Mexican boxers of today should we watch out for.
