Exactly, turned 36 in August as the JMM-Mayweather 24/7 showed.

A 36 year old lightweight against a prime Welterweight Mayweather Jr.....and still looking like he could go 15 rounds with Floyd!:yep

    :lol::rofl:lol:

    if they went 15 rounds.

    it will not be 120-107.

    it 150-132. :rofl:lol:

    and so no Divac.

the operative term there is "looking like".

it was not a competitive fight by any stretch of imagination.

LMAO. Sure he was. He kicks PacMan's brother's ass and PacMan won't even get in the ring to try and avenge his brother's loss. I guess family isn't so important in the Phillipines, huh?

If Manny spent all his time trying to avenge his brother's losses, he'd still be fighting scrubs on untelevised undercards.

And for the people who keep bringing up Montiel, he got a gift draw in his last fight.

I do think the Mexican talent pool IS weaker now than it's been in years. But there are enough young fighters out there that it should replenish pretty soon.

tyson marquez and di marco would not reach the elite status...

Mexico is running out of great boxers. Alvarez and Mares are their lone hope

Shut the F up with that BS Blue_Ray. Mexico has produced more Hall of Famers than 95% of countries in the world including the Philippines.

The Philippines is a rising power in the lower weights, but come on, replaced? That's just outright disrespectful of the Mexican fans and their boxing tradition.

Represent Filipino fans on the forum the right way.

I did'nt mention anything about it being competitive or not.......many in the forum have mentioned that Marquez got his ass whooped.....

.....I say different......I say Mayweather used every physical advantage that he had to do what he normally does......and prevent Marquez from mounting any kind of attack.
.....but not in any way, shape or form did he get beat up in that fight......

Marquez could have easily walked out of that Mayweather fight and onto a 10 rounder with a top 10 lightweight contender.

Physically, Marquez was not hurt or wounded in that fight......the Casamayor and Diaz fights were more physically fatigueing for JMM than the Mayweather fight.

That was my point.......that at 36 years of age Marquez could come out of the Mayweather fight in a physical state that he could fight another fight right then and there if need be.
