To be honest Mandanda, I was watching as a closet Kessler fan, thus explaining my annoyance at Wards performance!
I try to be impartial when it comes to non-scottish boxing, but for some reason I just like Kessler.

To be brutally honest Gaz, the guy just seems to have an aura around him. I started watching him just before the Calzaghe fight, & instantly took to him.
Even big arrogant Frochy loves Kessler, who would have thought it? I know hes saying he will KO Kessler, but if you look back to when the tournament was announced & look for interviews around that time, Froch really looks up to Kessler.
Why? **** knows. Which makes me say, Kessler has an aura! Simple as that.

Yeah, I suppose he is charismatic Dunks. He's always seemed like an decent pro as well, had a long unbeaten run against good fighters but didn't ***** when Calzaghes beat him and just got on with it.

    Nice avvy BTW!!

I thought Ward was very impessive last night. Infact he totally surprised me. I thought Kessler would have outpointed him.

Yep Ward was the real deal as I feared. Extremely clever and versatile as well as having all the skills and athletic talent, he's going to be a player for a long, long time. The only thing he lacks is big power, but its enough when he's so accurate.

i write a line, you write a paragraph thats fine, your entitled just as anyone else. that wasnt my point it, seemed baised thats all...and you kinda confirmed it.

but great performance, solid boxing...outboxing and near shutouting an opponant is a great achievement but over the man of the division is incredible. it will be remembered.

I thought Ward had a great night, and showed a lot of skills and attitudes that will serve him well, but there's already talk of things like "he should be P4P" and that he's better than Calzaghe was

He put on a good, sharp performance. He's not a massive puncher, but he commits to his shots, he's not the fastest, but he puts shots together well. He was lunging in at various points, and simply because Kessler doesn't seem to have a proper hook he was getting away with it.

If he does that against Dirrell or Abraham - guys who look for those openings - he's probably getting flattened.

But he deserves a lot of credit. I didn't make a pick, but I certainly didn't expect him to make Kessler so ineffective.

Good and unexpected performance by Ward, but I honestly think that the hysterical teenagers in the GF have pinned their colours on the wrong pony here.

If and when Carl Froch gets in the ring with the man he must be wishing with all his heart that Ward goes southpaw at some point...his stance is so square on that its just screaming for a straight right hand down the pipe. Ward looks so ragged at times that anyone with power and a bit of patience will take him apart. God help him if he lunges in against Abraham the same way as he did against Kessler, Abraham will hook him into next week. :deal

**Sorry Mandana, but Ward should shut the **** up re the God ****...God didn't give him victory over Kessler, hard work, dedication and a dodgy ref did that

Yeah as a christian i don't feel god gives any fighter victory over any other fighter but the end of the day he is just giving glory to the lord.

As for Vantage your the one that mentioned it. Nothing to do with being biased just pointing out facts about Andre and you picked up on something that no one else did. I have huge amount of respect for your posts normally. Maybe i was a bit defensive but it's probably because i felt that something i written in innocence was taken as some sort of bible bashing or something along them lines. :good

I agree TFFP very versatile and yes he lacks power but i think he has enough a dig to keep people respectful when fighting him which is helpful. He can go a long way imo.

    It was a weird fight.

Ward did well...he didn't hold as much as you'd think from people commenting on here, the headbutts were naughty and the damage no doubt put Kessler off his rhythm but things like this occur at the top level. I think Kessler massively underestimated him and assumed he could just fight like he normally does against the cans the WBA have set him as mandatories. If he does learn from this then it could be good for him but he didn't do the right things after losing to Calzaghe and hadn't fought anyone good enough to exploit that since.

He can come back and win the tournament but he's going to have to develop his strategy and ability to adapt that's for sure.

How dare you, he's the Son Of God dont you know. :rofl

Do I hate religion in sport and sick of all the bible bashers that loiter in our sweet science, however he looked a future p4p king to me.
