Floyd does not need to back Pac up. All he has to do is either stand his ground, or make him miss. Floyd combines these two strategies in every fight with body punching, the jab and great offense.

Yes, his power is under rated.

Actually Hatton jumped in with his hands down like an idiot. So he kind of helped Floyd with that knockout.

Manny is light years ahead from Hatton in the defense department he won't jump in like an idiot and his hands are always up.

yes he can and it not about the power, its the accuracy. mayweather, while he dosent throw alot, hits you with clean, flush shots. those will add up. if mayweather his pacquiao with enough counter punches, he knocks him out.

Freddy Roach will never let that happen. He's one of the best and has experience preparing against Floyd in the DelaHoya fight. He didn't too bad either since the fight was close despite DelaHoya being on the downside of his career. Manny will be prepared as always.

Cotto is way better body puncher than Mayweather and more powerful puncher. His body work didn't do much against Pacquiao who stood right in front of him.

all those comparisons out the door...STYLES MAKE FIGHTS...VERNON FORREST PUT MOSLEY ON HIS ASS AND PRETTY MUCH USED HIS LENGTH AND SIZE TO **** WITH MOSLEY AND TAKE 2 DECISIONS OVER HIM....MAYORGA KNOCKED VERNON AND THAN TOOK A DECISION OVER HIM....MOSLEY KNOCKED OUT MAYORGA...

IF UR SUGGESTING BECAUSE COTTO IS BETTER AT THIS THAN FLOYD AND OSCAR IS BETTER AT THAT THAN FLOYD AND MANNY DID THIS TO THEM THAN U HAVE NO IDEA WHAT UR TALKING BOUT

STYLES MAKE FIGHTS...THOUGH FLOYD OBVIOUSLY DONT HIT AS HARD AS COTTO HE CAN ALSO (LIKE PAC) THROW PUNCHES THAT YOU DONT SEE COMING...:bbb

You can't "back Pacquiao up". It isn't possible. He is always coming forward and then by definition so are you but in a war of attrition the tougher guy wins and at WW the tougher guy is always gonna be Pacquiao. Mayweather has the power and precision to make Manny think twice and I am of belief that Cotto was a shot fighter when he fought him but don't for one second think he didn't still have a stiffer jab than Mayweather. The step-in jab is Cotto's only elite punch. If anyone was gonna back him up it was Cotto and we all saw how that went.

you can back any fighter up...if enough pressure is put on that fighter he will start backing up eventually...look at antonio margarito..mosley had his ass backing up...

Floyd is definely not a puncher, so you gotta put a question mark considering he hasn't really fought any real welterweights that could take a punch aside from Baldomir who Floyd couldn't hurt.

But it's about placement...and commitment. If Floyd commits to his punches when he needs to, he should be able to keep Pac away from him.

However, if he doesn't and Pac is just that determined, I think Floyd could potentially be in for a long night.

But to be honest, Pac is a great fighter, but his defense is still suspect to me and that's something that a precision puncher like Floyd could take advantage of.

But if he just can't hurt Pac...

#1 - Hatton "helped" Pac out probably more tha he did Mayweather when he jumped in there with his hands down...

#2 - You think Manny is light years ahead of Hatton in the defense department? What about Floyd compared to Hatton in the defense department?????:patsch

I honestly don't think he has the power to back him up but he has the power to "sting" him with punches he won't see coming, Cotto has speed and nailed back with punches he didn't see coming either and Pac kept coming. Cotto couldn't back him up, Mayweather's plan WOULDN'T be to back him up, it would be to outland him. Mayweather didn't back up DLH either.

Nope, besides, Pac doesnt back up anymore. He sidesteps or clinches you tight now.
