Corrales might as well have been De La Hoya that evening:

It was complete domination. For the entire duration of their highly-anticipated showdown, Floyd Mayweather Jr. used his speed and defense to thoroughly outclass previously unbeaten Diego Corrales. When it was over, Corrales had been knocked down five times in less than ten rounds, the only times in his career that he had touched the canvas. While the fight failed to generate even a fraction of the excitement that was expected, it was nonetheless a dazzling showcase for Mayweather, Jr. [/SIZE]

, scaling two pounds over the junior lightweight limit. An hour later, after some downtime in a sauna, Corrales made the weight. By the time the bout began, Corrales had rehydrated to the tune of 146 lbs., although some of that weight could be attributed to a large club sandwich Corrales was seen scarfing in his dressing room a few hours before fight time. Once the fight began, Corrales appeared lethargic and later in the bout, his skinny legs frequently buckled under Mayweather's pinpoint accuracy.

A healthy Corrales would have still lost to Floyd. It would have been more competitive though. I just want the underpriviledged who didn't know all the facts to not have the illussion of Floyd completely outclassing a healthy Corrales, when that wasn't the case.

Corrales was going to jail when he fought PBF, his mind was more on how much ass-raping he is gonna get than how he will fight floyd. and Corrales was not more accomplished and skilled than cotto. he is a step or two below Miguel :hi:

The Oscar that fought Mayweather would have beat Cotto,no doubt it, in fact Id even say he stops Cotto late:yep As for Marquez thats a tricky one cause PFP Marquez is definitly better than Cotto, but at 147 id take Cotto for sure. Also Id give the edge to Castillo over Cotto. Hernandez is pretty close almost on Par with Cotto.
Oh yeah and for the post that said Cotto would whup Finito Lopez in a HTH Pfp matchup:patsch No way Id take Lopez to by 10th round stoppage hed pick Cotto apart. That fight would be similar to the way Manny took him out.

I'm not arguing with that. If you believe that Manny was dangerously undersized in that fight and still put the beating on Cotto, then I wouldn't blame you for considering it Manny's best performance. That doesn't change the fact that p4p Mayweather has fought better and more dangerous fighters than Cotto. It DOES mean that Manny takes chances that PBF refuses to take.

I believe JMM at LW is a tougher fight for Manny than Cotto at WW, just because the talent level between JMM and Cotto is that wide. JLC would have been as well, and so would Corrales, and those are the fights that PBF took in his glory days.

He also knew that he was getting on a bus for prison shortly after that fight, and given the probs he had with the weight I'm guessing his camp for that **** and he had a prison jumpsuit on his mind. Not Diego's best performance. I don't think he beats PBF even under the best conditions, but he was definitely performing under a burden.

Corrales was always an over-rated joke, and Castillo got killed by Hatton. The 135 division was a poor division at the time Corrales and Castillo was there.
Cotto KO's both at 140 with ease.
Tszyu kills Castillo, Cotto, Corrales, Floyd and Manny :)
