    I totally agree.

It's not the way he acts in media events, or how he wants to be perceived as a street thug or whatever it is he wants to be seen as.

It's bragging about how he should be hailed as the best ever, and then avoids the top guys in his weight class.

And then comes all the excuses.

How he answered RA the Rugged Man's questions is so revealing. It's like there are levels to his excuses.

1> It's not up to me --> YES IT IS
2> Boxing's not like that anymore --> IT WAS WHEN SUGAR RAY ROBINSON'S FIGHTING
    ...

he also tried to pull the race card, losses, undefeated ****, everything else and at the end of it all it was obvious to everyone except his hard core fans what he has been trying to do for the last so-and-so years.

I wouldn't say I dislike him. More like I don't care for him. He is very talented no doubt, but I watch boxing or any event, whether football, MMA, or basketball for the excitement or entertainment. His fights brings no entertainment to me, almost like watching golf. His talking is more exciting than his fights, so I'd rather see his interviews more than his fight, unless he's fighting someone than can make the fight exciting.

Before Floyd retired the pound-for-pound selection wasn't as unanimous as you make it seem to be.

If he didn't duck the top welterweights, er "retire", do you think he'd be in the top 10 pound-for-pound now?

If he took on Cotto, Mosley, Paul Williams he'd probably have had at least two losses by now. Probably by knockouts. We don't know for sure do we? Why? Because Floyd didn't take 'em fights. Are you going to assume he would have won against Cotto, Mosley and Williams? I'm not. His greatest challenges at welterweight don't make me think so.

He struggled with Judah in the early goings. Couldn't dent slow-ass Baldomir. We all know his three other opponents at welterweight, aren't really welterweights.

No way to know. If Floyd had continued fighting the Hatton's and DLH's of the world that's undoubtedly true. If he had started cleaning out the welterweight division I don't think there's any way Pac overtakes him. But that's all academic, since he retired and the title fell to Pac. Not to say that Pac hasn't earned it, but that's just the way it happened.

I'm sure by halfway through next year we'll have a very direct answer as to which of the two deserves to be P4P number 1.

    And thanks!

You tell me not to assume that he wins against these guys and then you turn around and assume that he gets two losses in three or four fights? How is that any more fair. Talk about inventing a scenario to prove your point.

All I said was "Pac got it when Floyd retired" which is unquestionably true. Floyd was the ring P4P #1 at his retirement.

I couldn't call losing two rounds in the first 4 struggling, particularly against Judah who also gave Cotto hell early on and who is generally a truly fine boxer for the early stages of any fight. Certainly good enough to give ANYONE trouble, and Floyd didn't look all that troubled, particularly as the aggressor.

And who the **** would have dented Baldomir? Vernon Forrest couldn't knock him out at 154 and Forrest wasn't exactly a weak puncher. Floyd treated him exactly the way he should have.

Anyway, no point in arguing it, what I said is true, no matter what spin you choose to put on it.

DLH was a beast at lightweight, there's no shame in that. On the other hand DLH has a handful of losses on his record while Floyd has none. Blame it on level of competition, but, again, that's just how it played out.

    That's the whole point.

You will assume he gets by these top welterweights, when all he can show is wins against Judah and Baldomir. I don't think so. I'm actually only citing Judah as one of Floyd's quality wins at welterweight, because what else does he have? This is the same Judah that won against Corey Spinks and done not much else. Cotto and Clottey stopped him.

And you're saying I am the one putting a spin on all these?

There wouldn't even be any discussions and "spins" you know, had Floyd fought the top welterweights!

    But alas, he didn't.

The icing was when he "came back", he could have fought a welterweight, Clottey, Cintron, someone legit at '47. But he didn't. He fought a career featherweight in Marquez, because as Ellerbe now claims, this guy isn't a proven PPV seller. That's the kind of "spin" you guys choose not to call. :yep

He's just a jackass. He's immensely talented. I don't think anyone out there right now is as technically spot on. He is that good. But it's the hypocritical, contradictory, lame crap that streams out of his mouth on a regular basis. The obnoxious garbage that has to come from insecurity.

Brian Kenny: (insert legitimate question about Floyd's career here)
Floyd: I did one million pay-per-view buys, Brian. I made twenty kajillion dollars. How much do you make commentating? Do you have a 5 million dollar blah blah blah in your blah blah blah?

He's just such an insecure, juvenile personality. It's sad. I dislike him. I don't hate him. I don't care enough to hate him. But crying because people don't appreciate your boring Baldomir fight and just the consistent crap that he talks. It's very dislikable. On a personal level, what exactly is there to like?

I admire his skills and believe he is the best in the World, even better than Manny. However, there is no getting away from the fact that he comes across like a complete and utter ****.

People stop being a boxing fan for a minute and just be a human being. If you are a parent, would you teach your kids the kind of words that come out of Floyd Jr's mouth? Nuff said.

Disagree. I'm a fan of Floyd's boxing and enjoy seeing him win. Some of his fights are boring but as someone who is a fan of the sport and who trains & spars as well, I still like his "boring" fights because I marvel at the skill. I like Pacquiao too. And for the record I'd like to see Floyd beat Pacquiao because I like to see the pure boxing style prevail. But, Floyd's personality is that of a loudmouth and someone who lacks humility. Not always likable. I can't blame him though, it's a product of his upbringing. I thought he had turned a new leaf when after the Marquez fight he was way more humble in that ESPN interview. I was looking forward to him being more chill, he would have won over a lot of the naysayers if he had stuck with that mentality.
