Yes I did, many many times and was almost exclusively shouted down by those of you who thought he was quite clearly the best at 168 when facts suggested that was highly debatable.

I even tipped a Ward upset some time ago!!

Maybe some of you remember my remarks about Kessler seemingly becoming more an more invincible in fans eyes, the LESS he actually fights:hey

Ward fought a good fight although doesn't look anything outstanding. He has nice skills but couldn't break an egg, and this lack of power will always be a problem for him. He does seem to hold an awful lot though but at least he didn't turn a big event into a track meet like his namesake.

I said there would be shocks and surprises in this tourny and this was the first one so far. I'm sure it won't be the last either. Roll on Round Two:bbb

i am so up in the air at the moment i just dont know how things are going to go down,
i thought taylor would outclass abraham,i thought kessler would be far too experienced for ward and i though a fast fighter like dirrell would outpoint froch,so my boxing knowledge is out the ****ing window at present.

You seem to be right today David but don't go too far. What will you say if Kessler beats Froch (I still expect that result). Your man would lose to a grossly overhype? :D

Well, no need to horribly underestimate Kessler either.

I never heard anybody claim he was an ATG, but 42 wins in 44 fights, multiple dominant wins in title fights and being the most competitive opponent for Calzaghe since Eubank isn't a bum resume. He is a good fighter with a limited variety of options, similar to Pavlik.

look say what you want but kessler is a top fighter,so what if he lost to ward boo hoo anyone would think wards the new roberto duran judging by this place!! the facts are still thus:

-wards been put on his arse by chumps
-he's had competitive fights with men who are not half the fighters as some of the names on kesslers resume
-ward was the better man on the day thats boxing

now this guy would thrash calzaghe  by applying the logic of esb bute would thrash calzaghe too because he beat bika slightly easier than calzaghe

    *conveniently overlooking the andrade debacle*

Yes, clearly, although I don't expect Kessler to beat Froch.

Now Kessler has lost convincingly to Ward everyone is being 'wise after the event'. Where were these people BEFORE the fight? The answer is that they were on here lauding Kessler as the top man at 168 when the facts suggested otherwise, and anyone who dared to even question kessler's 'number one' spot was looked upon as some sort of madman!!!:rofl

You're missing the point. I get plenty of predictions wrong as well

Good pick with the Ward fight.

I do think that Kessler looked a bit off in that fight and i do not think it was only due to Ward's obviously brilliant perfomance and stylistic advantage. Secondly I think that Kessler wins over Froch because Froch does not have any of the stylistic advantages that Ward and Calzaghe had against Kessler.
