People should jushold judgement till after the Paul David fight as you'll all know a lot more after that!! If Kenny does a job on P.David then it'll be a huge win at this stage of his career..

Is he not with FW people anymore??? I'd be shocked if he's not?? As for people saying it's sports network's fault that's wrong!! Kenny had a few legal problems and also a couple of injuries so it worked both ways..;)

Just got this from the Scotsman website.:bbb

Boxing Kenny Anderson 'as good as Steve Collins'

FORMER WBA featherweight boxing champ Barry McGuigan has hailed the progress of his protégé Kenny Anderson and tipped the Edinburgh fighter as a future world champ, writes BRIAN DONALD.

Commonwealth Games champion Anderson was also compared favourably with Irish dual world title-holder Steve Collins by coach Kevin Maree.

A report by Maree covering the first sixty days of Anderson's time in McGuigan's stable of fighters was glowing in its terms.

And McGuigan said: "I'm not at all surprised – Anderson will become a world champion in the near future because I don't think that there is a better super- middleweight in Britain outside of world champion Carl Froch."

Anderson will take on Welshman Jamie Ambler in his first fight under McGuigan's guidance on November 29 and Maree said: "Over the last two months, Anderson has demonstrated the same intimidating strength, the same fearsome punchpower, steely determination and ice cool ring temperament as Steve Collins.

"Once Ambler is polished off , I'm confident he will win his British title eliminator in Glasgow in January and fight and win a British 12-stone title by June."

And who's saying that Groves has 'a rock solid chin'? Or that 'he's clearly a massive puncher'? And as regards his opposition he's only been a pro a year. Who do you want him to have fought by now? How often do you see a prospect thrown in with someone who carries knockout power and is highly durable? Pretty much everybody excepts that he's been brought on very well; he's already progressed to fighting 8 rounders & has already fought abroad (albeit as a 'home fighter' of sorts).
The fact is that you can't admit that being stopped as a kid doesn't automatically constitute being glass chinned.
And for the record he was stopped on his feet after receiving a second count in the same round.

the one thing kenny needed was quality sparring which he needed and couldn't get in scotland and tony gave him great sparring in manchester and glasgow, neither guy will learn anything beating up inferior sparring partners.kenny learnt loads off tony oakey as well.

Oakey sounded like he was trying to fire himself up during their sparring session when he was heard under his breath saying "Oakey" "Oakey"
but he was really saying was "Ok" "Ok" "enough of this ****!" "I'm a celebrity get me out of here!"

    Of course I'm only joking.:D

I heard their sparring sessions were competitive and think Kenny would have learned a lot from them.:bbb

I can assure you tony oakey gave kenny superb sparring sessions at a important stage of kenny's development, nobody would get an easy spar with oakey hes in your face continually.
