Haye will drop the belt after the Ruiz fight I think.

WBA has become the lower league division of the alphabet mess a long time ago.

That's probably why Haye ended up owning the belt anyway.

I hope Haye can do something at heavyweight, but he's done nothing so far. "World Heavyweight Champion" ? Nah.

You had to spoil it didn't you?

Let's just hope he Valuev doesn't want a rematch. He said after the fight that he doesn't like fighting speedy small guys.

    no.

i think WBA heavyweight titlists only need to make one mandatory defence a year. the winner of meehan and chag will become the next mandatory, but this won't be enforced until 2011 and haye will be able to have a voluntary or unification fight in the meantime.

yes but Ruiz is the mando from 2009, Valuev was forced to fight him but Ruiz decided to put it off and take the stepaside money

ah right. although the article doesn't seem to say when the fight between the winners of haye-ruiz and chag-meehan will have to take place by, or if it has to be the next fight.

It's Haye's own fault. He chose to fight a clumsy oaf for an already meaningless paper title, and since he looked boring as hell doing so he probably still needs the belt to have any credibility.

It looks like the American promoters and TV are looking to market him though.

Ruiz's last fight prior to the Haye undercard was a loss to Valuev for the title so how the hell was he mandatory anyway!? Does that mean that once Haye has beaten him he will be mandatory without winning a fight and have to face the winner of Haye v the interim champ?

Oh dear oh dear. Still upset that you chickened out of our sparring session huh? You're like a chat bot. Danny William blah blah blah, Jermaine Taylor blah blah blah, sports science blah blah blah. Anyway mate this is the british forum you should know not to bring lounge **** in here.

You seriously asked why holyfield shouldn't get a shot at Haye that's so sad it's almost funny.

If Haye wants to fight the Klits, I'm sure its there for him without having to sell his himself too short.

    Valuev 2, Ruiz and Chagaev....

I doubt Haye will face Chagaev, he's a possible risk and not a great seat filling attraction.

I'm not sure some of the ABC belts like seeing their titles unified.
