I heard he's training in Vegas for this fight, like he did before Zuniga. Do you have any knowledge as to why he decided on this? And his hand...the rehab is over & he can make a tight fist now? I hope...:blood
Anyone who isn't disappointed is crazy. I'm a Pavlik fan and I would assume most are as frustrated as I am.
look i'm not happy w/ how the last year went but everyone acts like those injuries/infection never happened. the rematch with taylor was at a contractually mandated catchweight. rematch clauses are always a condition of the champ. blame taylor for that. what i was responding to is the fact that you didnt once mention the very serious nature of the injuries and surgeries and reaction to medication that he's been through the past year and instead chalked everything over the past year to bernard hopkins. i'm a huge fan of bhop's and he handed pav his ass, but you conveniently left out all that **** that has happened to pav. he could have fought another lockett/rubio type at mw and put his title on the line if he wanted to instead of moving up to fight bhop. ffs the mw division is full of'em. is that not true?? just wait for him to get healthy again and see how he does and the direction he goes in before you throw him under the bus and write him off
i knock KP after the taylor fights....not before you cant say jack **** about mirinda, mirinda lost "1" time prior to Pav and that was a disputed 12 round dec to AA, who incidently is still undefeated...NO ONE wanted to fight Miranda...but being #1 and #2 contenders, that fought like no one else does for a shot at the undisputed title. and you cant knock him for KOing jermain taylor....geez man, the guy was undefeated and just beat bhop 2 times....had a rematch and still won...who cares about sluggish....he fought the best guy 2 times in a row. incidentally, who gives a **** what guys have done since hes fought them? he fought them when they were undefeated or feared...kessler was offered miranda a few years for a showtime fight....shameless said no way..... after that, im with you...hes done nothing , but i do give him credit in losing to hopkins...at least he had the balls to fight the guy, no one looks good against him even when they beat him...
Definitely. It's ludicrous that so many are already trying to discredit his accomplishments from the not-too-distant past.
Sorry, but I'm not convinced that all these injuries and reactions to medication etc. are true. I think he was tempted to fight Hopkins by the money involved and Hopkins' performance vs Calzaghe. What about all the stuff that came out afterwards that he had the flu or some other serious debilitating illness when he was fighting Hopkins? Then there were the rumours of alcoholism and rehab. Then the infections and allergic reactions to medication. Too many excuses, not enough action.
yeah he's in vegas. from what i understand he wanted to get away from everything...and from what i understand the hand is coming along. i can't see how its gonna be 100% for the fight but it's staph free and he can train as hard as he wants. last i heard he is still technically "rehabbing" the hand but that may be over now. what a lot of people don't know is that prior to being cleared to begin training he was under dr.'s orders to not break a sweat for 2 months. he was set back quite a bit but he should be fine for espino.
Given the current general sentiment of Kessler's loss to Ward putting a big hole in Calzaghe's resume, I think what Pavlik's opponents have gone on to do since losing to him is quite relevant.
alright, fair enough...wasnt gettin' on ya brother. :good he knows he has a lot to prove so hopefully he can right the ship in 2010 and change some minds.
Don't forget the supposed elbow injury. He is the P4P king of excuses. My Neck! My Back! My Neck & My Back!
