Andre Dirrell vs Arthur Abraham: Who Wins and How?

I like Dirrell here man, I like the confidence that Andre Ward has restored to American boxing. I think Dirrell rides the wave. First and foremost I think Dirrell will use his size advantages over Abraham MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Taylor did. He moves better than Taylor he boxes on the outside better than Taylor, Arthur Abraham isn't a guy who's gonna chase you down unless you get gassed and Dirrell proved he's got the stamina to keep up his pace over 12. I like Dirrell using those quick hands on the outside to UD AA

Now the one problem I could see in this fight for Dirrell could be lack of discipline. AA is not Oganov, they've both got power, but AA is a deadly accurate counter puncher and if Dirrell gets reckless he could be asking for it, but Imma go with Dirrell in this one

 

AA is going to knock Dirrell out. AA knows that his opponent can box, and that AA will turn up the pressure in this fight. AA will uncoil the minute dirrell opens up. He won't be able to grab AA like he did Froch. AA is just too strong for everyone in the tournament. AA's opponents get caught up in tring to match AA's power, and they can't. AA ko in 7!

I predicted that Ward would win every round over Kessler though.

A.A. is a strong dude. But Direll might just be able to embarrass him from the outside with speed and reach. Just don't want to get too much in A.A.'s wheelhouse. So I'll give A.A. a punchers chance....But would bet on Dirrell UD...

 

I thought Dirrell looked fragile or "rubbery" against Froch. I see Abraham winning by late KO (much like Taylor fight)

A gun shy scared out of his mind Taylor won 4 rounds off of ABraham just jabbing. ANd you think Dirrell is going to get dominated? The only way Abraham wins is if Dirrell gets cocky and gets his face busted by a looping hook. Any other way, dirrells winning a decision. Froch could close the distance because he has 75 inch arms, freakish long arms, and can push opponents back with the jab. Hows a hooker like Abraham gonna close the distance?

 

Dumb post, you trying to tell me "Direll's jab" is more accurate or harder then Jermain's ? GTFO here man, Direll fighting on the "outside" is going to look EXACTLY like what JT was trying to do, AA would probably be wishing direll fights on the outside. Jabbing and catching nothing but gloves. I see AA going to Dirells body early and real hard, catching and decapitating Direll in the later rounds.

Right now, I'm think Dirrell will win, because I think he has the style to beat Abraham. He can throw a lighting quick 4,5,6 punch combo and get out before Abraham connects to his face, but of course, if Abraham connects it's lights out.

All three fights in the second round I can see the underdogs pulling it off.

 

Dirrells jab is much much quicker then Jermains. Maybe not as hard, but that doesnt matter. All Dirrell has to do is touch Abraham to score points. The jab is not the key, its the looping right hand, which was there for Taylor all night. **** Abraham was giving him that punch, but because of getting KTFO so many times he was afraid to throw it.

Complete and utter nonsense. Jermaine Taylor standes straight in front of his opponent, Dirrell on the hand is constantly on the move. Completely different styles. Taylor is conventional, Dirrell is not,

Abraham must be the favorite. Dirrell has the tools to win a decision though. I am hoping he will, but I have very little confidence in the prediction. Im rooting for Dirrell, my logic tells me Abraham

 

Oddly enough, it's Dirrell's conditioning that has me a little worried. He finished the Froch fight strong, but part of me wonders if conditioning didn't play a significant part of why Andre slowed down his workrate and increased his clinching through the second half of the Froch fight despite punching judiciously in the first place. Granted, it was his first 12 round fight so it's not like there's no room for improvement, but I don't think it's where it needs to be yet. It's during those times where he takes time off and fights at a lull that I'm worried; Abraham's not going to pressure him with 100 punches a round, but as you mentioned, focus and discipline are key- and that takes energy. Abraham knows how to manage his for maximum efficiency in a fight, and if Dirrell falls off, he'll be ready to strike.

Andre can pull it off- but it's not going to be easy and he's going to have to have made strides since the Froch fight to do it. Here's hoping that's what's happening, because the Abraham fight's going to be here before we know it. :good

 

i chose dirrell but its a toss up for me. dirrell can outbox abraham for 12 rounds, but abraham carries that "one punch" for the entire fight. its gonna be interesting nonetheless

 

You don't score points hitting your opponents gloves. Direll's jab maybe quicker then JT's but less accurate and in general a lot more wild.

Yes I agree Direll is on the "move":rofl, he gonna be moving a lot faster when he has someone with his guard up looking for hard counter punches for 12 straight rounds.

If Direll think he is going to bending to AA's waist he has another thing coming, a nice check left upper cut.

AA is no Froch, whole different ballgame.

Boxing is as much about late round KO's as it is about the sweet science.
