And then retires. So his record would be undisputed cruiserweight champ. Undisputed heavyweight champ, retired as champ. With only one loss in his whole career and that being to the legend that is Carl Thompson. Sounds good.

Imagine if haye does clean out the heavyweight division and retires. Many years in the future he's being talked about and one voice pops up "yeah but my grandads carl thompson and he knocked that bum out."

There are conflicting reports. It looks like a lot of political posturing from Don King who is, obviously, desperate to cling to his ever shrinking piece of the heavyweight scene.

Both Ruiz and Chagaev are tough fights for Haye.

If they are his next two fights he will have done well to keep his belt, and would of moved up a level as far as proven abilities goes.

I have no problem with these two bouts personally.

    I agree with this.

Really, what's the big ****ing deal bitches?

I'm not one who subscribes to this theory of "lets get him in with one of the Klitschko's as soon as we can, before he loses the belt to some lesser fighter".

I don't really wanna see a rematch with Valuev, because I can't see the result being any different. But I have no problem with Ruiz and Chagaev. Vlad and Vitali are so far above the above the pack, that I think it would benefit Haye to get the scalps of a couple more of the fringe element before facing them.

Haye needs to take the division head on, and really stamp his authority. Why not just take care of all the average, past it, padded guys out there, any one with a claim to the throne.

Ruiz, chagaev-meehan, Harrison (rival from old days), Valuev II, Arreloa....then go for the Kilts.

Haye wants to retire young tho and with the best will in the world you are talking 5 fights there which is what 2 - 2.1/2 years away , Vitali would be retired surley ( being he would be over forty by then ) and Wlad may even be gone too !

Yeah, but I didn't believe it when Hopkins and DLH set their retirement dates (I think it was 40 and 30 respectively), and I don't really believe it when David Haye talks about it either.

Bloody Bernard even harped on about promising his dying mother he wouldn't fight past forty.

    Money talks.

    True enough !

I know what you're saying he doesn't have to be flung a Klitschko immediatley, Chagaev is a good fighter and I would be happy for that fight to happen ( and Ruiz if we must ! ) but the likes of Meehan are beneath him and surely no one wants to see Valuev 2.

I just want to make sure he gets one of the Klitshckos , Vitali will surely retire soon.
