**Miguel Cotto's Return Eyed For June in New York City**

    According to promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, former champion Miguel Cotto may return in his favorite position - headlining a June event on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York. Arum plans to meet with Cotto and his team in the near future to discuss the plans for 2010. First, Cotto needs to recover from the beating he took against Manny Pacquiao on November 14.

    "First, Miguel needs a long period of rest, so forget boxing for a while. Then we will sit down to talk about some possible opponents, but the idea is for him to fight again in the summer," Arum told Primera Hora .

    Arum would love to put together an event with Cotto in the new Yankee Stadium but obviously Madison Square Garden is a frontrunner to host the card. Juan Manuel Lopez is a possible co-feature to Cotto's comeback if the event lands in Yankee Stadium.

    "If we reach an agreement to make the event at Yankee Stadium, it would be ideal to have Miguel with Juan Manuel "Juanma "Lopez on the same card. We would need both of them to fill the place. But if it's at Madison Square Garden, then it would only be Miguel," Arum said.

    collazo would be a good fit here, since he is from new york....but does present some danger.....

    i heard a rumor about castillo? whish would be a horrible fight...

    This is great news !!!!!!

    Nothing but love for Cotto , id like to see him fight Cintron , Collazo or maybe Margarito !!!!!!

    Or the IBF title holder Hlatschwayo , think thats how ya spell it , would be nice to see Cotto bounce back with a world title .

    Someone who is safe. A lower level guy. Cotto has always shown the want to fight in big ones but he needs a another fight like Jennings-which he took because of the title, I assume. Somebody he can man-handle a bit an get his confidence back. He doesn't need to have a bunch of doubts following him into a big fight with a dangerous guy.

    I wouldn't want to see the Cotto v Margarito 2nd fight. Margarito doesn't deserve the money and limelight, and I think the outcome would be the same as the first fight anyway.

    a 3 weight world titlist not champ, miguel cotto has never been recoginzed as the lineal or undisputed champion in any weight class, if he fought margo the same exact thing would happen, because cotto will never get over his stamina problems that he has always had, thats why he was never the elite pound for pound fighter he was made out to be, i said it before the margarito fight before the clottey fight and before the pacman fight cotto, is the defintion of overrated.
