Kessler should hire Manny Steward. It's the best option out there.

Yup, he goes to Europre all the time anyway. Kessler is a typical Steward type fighter.

It doesn't require that he completely changes his style - he just needs to be able to tell him to move laterally rather than in reverse, hold properly during a clich (Kessler let Ward get away with murder inside) so the ref would be forced to break them, and time him with uppercuts when he comes in like Billy the Goat. Oh, and double up the jab.

I would like the idea of him going with Manny Steward, Dan Birmingham is also a good choice.

I was literally screaming at the screen "double up the jab. Do it already what the **** is wrong with you"!! Must have been pretty hillarious to witness.

Exactly the same as vs. Calzaghe - but Kessler didn't listen then either. Kessler best two rounds 9 and 10, and then they stopped the fight. Kessler should have done the same in both fights. A little step forward and throwing first, a little step forward and throwing first, a little .....................

It's not about taste, but about relevance. What you wrote had no relevance to this thread. If you wan't to compare the resumes of RJJ and Calzaghe then start another thread.

His jab was missing when it was one, but two or three jabs, and Kessler was connecting. If he'd moved that jab down a bit, he'd have been connecting on the chest, the shoulders and the sides of the neck. It's a simple adjustment that would have given him something to work with.

    Excactly!

I just can't comprehend how Richard Olsen doesn't tell Kessler these things.

It was ridiculous hearing him "be harder on him Mikkel". What the **** kind of advice is that??

Oh I agree but Kessler is a homeboy I think. He'd thrive in a nice quiet setting in south wales and sparring with Joe would be invaluble for him. Whatever people think of enzo he can get a fighter in shape, that with working with joe would be great for him I reckon.

I like this idea. It would be like Apollo training Rocky in Rocky III

Joe has a vested interest in helping Kessler to win the tournament so perhaps it could work.

They all become a laughing stock if Kessler loses though

I think it would do Kessler good to make his next training camp in a remote area. Wales might be nice :D

But I do think that Enzo would be a bad choice for a trainer. Mainly because of the link to the Calzaghe fight. I think it would annoy Kessler.

Steward or Roach should pair up with Kessler in a remote farmhouse in Wales

Enzo, Joe and Mikkel all get on well, from what I've heard. I believe they've even stayed with them in Denmark.

Joe considers Kessler a friend. Actually, I think Enzo might be a better choice that others expect. He's good at getting guys prepared to fight at mid to close range, he works on stamina and he generally gives usable advice (if delivered hyper-actively) in the corner.

Kessler was lost when he got in close, Enzo could work on his hooks and uppercuts. Plus the camps are seriously intense.
