I'm not asero and I don't do polls. Just wanted some good boxing analysis so just post your reasons

I ask this for several reasons:

    * both taylor (when he won) and ward are young...mid 20's. Taylor may have been groomed more to be champ by the networks, media etc than ward but you get the idea. Both talented young fighters

    * both beat the recognized #1 in the division. Bhop is on another level than kessler but both were seasoned pro's who had many many championship rounds under their belts

    * and lets face it...many feel taylor didnt deserve the decision over bhop and many feel ward cheated. The wins have been criticized by many.

so in light of all of this...which win was more bigger? which fight will be viewed as more historic? Thoughts in general when looking at these two side by side?

disclaimer: i like all 4 fighters but i am a huge jt fan and did pick ward in BigBone's poll to beat mikkel.

Taylor over B-hop. It might have been closer, but Bernard is clearly a better fighter than Kessler. Mikkel, since the loss to Calzaghe, hadn't done anything to re-affirm himself as the man in the division. Wins over Sartison, Hausler and Perdomo just didn't cut it.

Taylor over BHop is the bigger win. It wasn't a dominant performance by Taylor like Ward's was, but Hopkins is by far the bigger name to have on a resume.

if there were no headbutts would this change anyone's opinion or does the fact that bhop is on another level than kessler mean taylor's win is bigger regardless?

Hell BHop headbutted Taylor and remember the cut. Also he took Bhop to school like nobody else in the first half.

Taylor's win was way bigger. Hopkins wasn't just undisputed number one in the division, he was considered P4P number one. Way bigger.

i agree that taylor's win was bigger. but w/ regards to the ward/kess fight, some feel that ward just dominated and some feel that the fight was basically a fraud. so given how close taylor/bhop was and how some feel about ward/kess....got me curious.

BHop is a legit ATG. I don't think Kessler is hall of fame worthy as of yet.

i agree w/ everyone that taylor is the bigger fight. but i will say that, at least it felt this way, that less people were surprised that taylor won. not many people on here gave ward a chance to win.
