Yeah you got to go with Taylor over hopkins. Kessler is a solid fighter, but not a guy that is seen as a p4p top fighter. Plus many questioned just how good Kessler was being that he really only had one fight that was truely on the elite level. Most of, if not all his other fights he was a heavy favorite.

    :rofl

You do know that Taylor hasnt scored a tko in almost 5 years and 10 fights dont you??? And that was over a pure bum.

Im not saying that its not possible, but very, very unlikely. In fact I would do something that I think is stupid and I have never done before and that is have an avatar bet with you, or even a loser leaves town for awhile bet. I have been posting on boxing sites since the start of the internet and I have never offered that bet.:hey

Taylor over Hopkins was big. This is not that big. We all knew Ward was good just untested. He passed his test.

Taylor over B-Hop because of the stature of B-Hop.

Tough to say... I believe Ward is probably the more skillful fighter at the time they each won their first belt. He's got a comfort-level in the ring that I've never, ever seen from Taylor.

However, Taylor had a raw, indestructible, guns-blazing kind of mentality back then that just isn't there any more, and it made him more dangerous than a lot of people today want to admit. Hopkins certainly bought into it, which is why his strategy was to let Taylor gas himself out.

Ward over Kessler. Taylor got a bogus GIFT DECISION, and then got another one. He's a fraud.

    good post :good

i just remember there being a TON of hype around taylor back then whereas a lot of people thought ward ventured into the deep end before learning how to swim

i know bhop is/was/will always be better than kessler. bhop is an atg and a favorite of mine

but it makes it more interesting to look at it from the challenger's perspective. who was better? taylor of then or ward of now? i agree w/ ya bud, it is tough to say

Hopkins. He was becoming a huge name at the time, and even though he was starting to get old, he is tough as hell to beat.
