So you've become best mates with Ricky Hatton and are talking over some drinks. He tells you he wants to make a comeback.

What would you say? And if you agree with him, who would you recommend to him for his first comeback fight?

 

would tell him that fitness needs to be a year round endeavour and that this cutting 30+ lbs in a 8 week camp is gonna get his ass sparked cold again.

its not healthy at all to do that and your not at full strenght regardless of how ripped you look. your body pretty much goes into shock when you do that. as far as who to fight...man i'm not sure tbh. i know marquez has been batted around and there are talks...if hatton takes it very seriously, i think he could win so i guess it would depend on how serious he is about coming in at 100%

 

Your to fat and you clearly dont care about being the best you can in your major fights so just stay retired before you loss to lower level opposition.

 

i would say no,for me he is about 1/2 at most of what he was at his peak right now,but if he dos come back have a fight with malinaggi or diaz or sum1 like that,guys that he can still beat

 

I would tell him to go for it, also I would like to see finally get a rematch againts that ringpost that knocked him out...

 

it would hardly be a comeback as he fought in may this year.

even if u hate hatton, u have to agree that he has a strong position in world boxing and has plenty of opportunities if he can stay in shape.

most importantly he attracts big $$.

 

Rematch with Paulie. He can't get KO'd there.

 

I agree with the year-round fitness idea, and also Paulie as the comeback opponent. Perfect choice.

 

the guy has only lost two fights against two of the best fighters in boxing history. he cops too much unfounded flack i believe.

 

stay in shape for a year and fight that Mathew guy on late 2010

Hatton should fight the malignaggi vs Diaz 2 winner since neither punch hard and if he wins go for juan manuel marquez.

 

I'd tell him that you only live once. Fight on my man. I never thought that he was a great fighter but he certainly should fight if that is what he wants to do. Yes, as someone else said, he should stay in better shape but again that is his choice. At this point, he should be aiming for the best pay day he can get. Take the cash and retire to the pub.

 

only way is if he could ever get back to light welter, I suppose you try for khan after a warm-up and assume that you can count on youth being an enemy..... sounds krazy right? retire Ricky, you sure can't fight higher than LW that's proved right?

 

I'd advise him to retire, as he's accomplished more than enough and has had a good career. Also he's reached the highest echelon of boxing and it''s inprobable that he'll reach those heights again, you've got your money, you've got your health, you've got a family.

A top fighter stays in condition all year, if you want to fight again prove it by staying in shape one year prior your fight

 

I'd say life's too short, hang em' up. I read he's seriously packing on the pounds. How much does he wieght these days?
