Holmes, Ali, Liston, Hell even Foreman and Lewis had better jabs than Wlad and thats just in the heavyweight division if you are going to make an argument for Wlad having the bet jab in history it will have to be a corker!

 

it is not merely used as a range finder the way many boxers utilise the current jab. it is thrown with enough force to be considered a power punch, we all say the damage it did to chagaev. it is not just used offensively either, it is a great defence, it is too stiff for fighters to walk through, it is too snappy for fighters to counter, plus the reach ensures noone will get past it. he can win a fight without ever throwing a right hand. it perfectly sets up his next shot, whether it be a left hook, a straight right, or another jab. and it is pinpoint accurate to the degree that it severels softens up an opponent.

an like i said, it isn't the best, but there is a strong argument for it.

 

A year or two ago I would have disagreed with your pick of Dawson. However, given the amount of experience he has gained in four fights with top veterans, I believe he's learned enough to make him VERY difficult for anyone to beat. Though I had him losing to Johnson the first time, I'll respect the judge's decision and just look at him as someone who didn't waste the opportunities he's had. Now I hope he continues to fight the big names.

Floyd is not the same now as he was with Castillo. This version of Floyd has become more savvy, more patient and mor etactical. Of course you have to take into consideration teh experience has made him better.

Whittaker got hit abit later on. Even with Chavez he got hit..I dont think that Chavez would do much to poresent day Floyd. He is that good.

Floyds mental state is "I am not getting hit tonight, I need to counter him twice" and hes got the handspeed and reach to do so. He has this formula right now and its unbeatable.
