Top 10 fighters from your region?

    Just wondering what everyone's top 10 fighters are from their regions. Obviously some regions are going to have better fighters than others, but it would be nice to see who people rate from their region :good

    North-East (based on future potential):

    1. Travis Dickinson - I rate him very highly, although not many others do...yet :p Fast hands, good power, physical advantages (6'4" at Light-Heavy) and he is still only 21. Beat Groves twice in the amateurs (he stopped him in one of the wins as well) and I think he has the potential to go far.

    2. Tony Jeffries - Another good prospect, good jab and power, just needs to work on other areas of his game, mainly to stay composed! Has the popularity to become a superstar in the North-East (he has already won the North-East Sports Personality of the Year Award!), which should make the big fights happen - maybe even against Dickinson in a couple of years time :yep

    3. David Dolan - Good domestic level fighter. If he beats Norton then he can rule the dire domestic cruiserweight scene for a good couple of years.

    4. Stuart Hall - Looked impressive in his last fight. Started the pro game at a late age, but should be a challenger against the top domestic fighters.

    5. Paul Truscott - Put up a great battle in his two losses to Simpson, but he is still young and he certainly can come back. Cuts are an issue though, especially under British rules.

    6. Nigel Wright - A test for any fighter at domestic level, may have lost some desire though.

    7. Michael Hunter - Was a very good fighter a few years back, but does he have it anymore? Outclassed by Booth last time out.

    8. Bob Ajisafe - Seems to be a future stepping stone for the 'better' prospects in the division (Bellew, Dickinson, Jeffries etc.). Still has plenty of time on his side to improve though.

    9. Chris Burton - Decent heavyweight who could be in the mix with the other future top domestic heavys, but he is too inactive!

    10. Jon Lewis Dickinson - Due to the dire state of the cruiserweight division he could be in the mix in a couple years time, although I think he has looked pretty poor so far. He is young so he could improve...I hope.

    fighters that missed out: Dave Ferguson (average), Craig Denton (haven't seen him fight), Danny Hughes (good power, poor shape for a heavy - needs to lose some weight, but does have potential, still young) and Paul Holborn (I thought he lost his last fight quite clearly, don't see him going too far).

    Got a couple of fighters who I think can go beyond domestic level coming through, although the North-East isn't exactly packed with talent right now!

    Amir Khan - Best still to come (Bolton is Greater Manchester)
    Ricky Hatton - Achieved a hell of a lot but on the decline now
    Jamie Moore - Could still look good at Middle
    John Murray - British Champion - Euro next
    Me - Street Brawler, great potential when opponents back is turned
    Michael Jennings - Make or Break against Brook
    Matthew Hall - Looked poor against Small but will bounce back i'm sure
    Steven Bell - Once he beats Simpson he'll move up
    Craig Watson - Fighting this weekend. Disgrace how he picked Matt Hatton Apart and gained nothing from it
    Matthew Hatton - Hasn't won a belt and cannot go ahead of Watson for me
    Choi Tseveenpurev - Lack of activity could see him drop out and being replaced by the likes of, Murray/Crolla/Meager etc etc

    Don't know of any fighters from the Highlands. Lee McAllister from Aberdeen is probally the closest.

    The Black Country (Dudley/Wolverhampton/West Brom)

    In no real order

    Rob Norton (Cruiserweight) - British/Commonwealth Cruiserweight champion. Re-match with Dolan set for Wolverhampton in January.

    Young Mutley (Welter/Light-Welter)- Ex British champion/European challenger. Prizefighter could be his last hurrah.

    Martin Gethin (Lightweight) - Ex English champion. Challenging Stefy Bull for the English title next week.

    Dean Harrison (Light-Welter)- British title challenger. Future in doubt after recent loss to Darren Askew.

    Darren McDermott (Middleweight) - British title challenger/current English champion. Looking to be moving upto Super-Middle.

    Marcus Portman (Light-Middle) - British and Commonwealth challenger/ex "WBF" champion. After being a bit inactive recently drew with Tyan Booth for the Midlands strap.

    Steve Saville (Lightweight) - Midlands Area Lightweight champion. Last seen been totally outclassed by Frankie Gavin, future also in doubt after recently losing to Al Hamidi.

    Sam Horton (Middleweight) - Midlands Area Super Middleweight champion. Last seen being stopped in a British title eliminator by Cello Renda, chasing the re-match.

    from dublin and surrounding areas

    bernard dunne - ex wba regular and ebu champ at 122
    paddy hyland - irish 126 champ and IBF international champ , best of the Hyland brothers imo
    paul hyland - irish 122 champ and is fighting for the EU 122 title soon , bad mas Bernard Dunne imo
    eddie hyland - irish 130 champ and IBF international champ
    james moore - fought yuri foreman for NABF at 154 title last year
    oisin ***an - tough and always comes to fight , lost a split desicion to ex world champ Paul Spadafora last year
    dean byrne - fights out of the wild card and is 11-0 managed and trained by Freddie Roache
    jamie kavanagh - also fights out of the wild card and hasnt made his debut yet , looks a real good prospect in videos on youtube and is a former world junior silver medalist at light wleterweight
    jim rock - good fighter in his day , still fighting the odd fight , would be a good test for any up and coming middle
    darren sutherland (rip) - what can i say still devastated about his death would have been world champ imo
