Personally, I wish him well in his retirement if this is the case, although I don't believe Roach. I never really rooted for him in the ring, but he seems like a decent guy outside of it. Boxing will miss him and the excitement he has brought the sport recently...
the day Manny retires its gonna suck. Wish he could fight a few more years but if he beats Mayweather i wish nothing but the best for him and will be proud to have witnessed a prime ATG in my generation.
I dont know if Pac will do well in retirement. He looks to me to be the fighter that will spend all his money and need to come back. I have read he has gambling problems and gives out alot of money. I can see him coming back for some big money fights. Its rare that a fighter retire and not come back.
He didnt really say it will be Pac's last fight, he said he would like to see him retire after the Mayweather fight but its up to Pac.
After Mayweather i can understand Pac retiring, outside of a guy here or there, theres really nobody left to fight after hatton, cotto and mayweather.... mosley i suppose. But pac had no buisness even being at welterweight, so it would be nice to see Pac going out on top.... I would like to see JMM 3 and Valero fights, but eather way, Pac is the man and i hope he would enjoy his retirement afterwards.
The sport will definately miss him when he retires. If he beats Mayweather, then he deserves his retirement more than anyone. The amount of high profiled fights he's been in and the legends he's conquered, tells you he's achieved all that he could. However if he loses against Mayweather (which more than likely he will), I can't seem him leaving the boxing world on such a result. A contraversial loss will likely demand a rematch, whilst a normal defeat may force Team Pacquiao to venture somewhere else for one last memorable fight......enter Juan Manuel Marquez
If Mayweather beats Pacquiao then I do not expect to see Pacman retire. He, like ALL fighters, will not want to end of on loss. If he loses he will box on. If he wins, then there really is not better note to end what has been a wonderful, illustrious career.
True. thats why i said if he beats Mayweather he cant end his career any better but if he loses he'll fight so he can reitre on a good note. Possibly JMM.
MP is 100% serious about going into politics in May. I believe this will be his last fight if he wins the congressional seat. If he doesn't, then he'll be back in the ring.
I hope he fights on for a couple of years more. It seems that nowadys when a fighter reaches his peak at the top level they seem to retire like Mayweather. He's at the top of his popularity right now and if he beats Mayweather it will go through the roof. But if he reties fair play to him he gave us great fights.
I say he needs to take on Bhop for good measure before he goes. All this talk of early retirement is depressing, I want to see some more dangit.
