It would be a closer fight with Froch than with Kessler. Two different styles.

exactly what i was about to say. i can't wait for ward to completely dismantle froch and make him look like a total bum. i think he can easily tko froch being that he has far worse defense than kessler and he'll probably land every punch he throws. that fight is going to be a complete and utter mismatch in ever sense of the word. ward will land far, far more than dirrell did and he'll take even less. it's not even going to be a fun fight to watch.

All very true, except you should mention that Ward is actually the more elusive and harder to land cleanly on than Dirrell, as well, contradictory to an earlier post. But I guess "every bit as fast and slick as Dirrell" pretty much covers it.

he's also far smarter than dirrell, more willing to fight (he won't **** and moan), and far better technically. i don't think anyone at 168 can beat ward. abraham might be able to do it with his power (if he can somehow miraculously catch ward), but that's the only way he'll ever beat a great technical (and extremely talented) fighter like ward.

I tend to agree with that somewhat. I have always noticed a great deal of raw talent from Dirrell that lacks some fine tuning. He has not progressed as well as Ward from the mental and executional standpoints. If Dirrell ever puts it all together (he's not too far off) look out!

i also agree. dirrell just needs to assert himself more and work on his balance, imo. he really let froch throw him around in their fight and that lost it for him. he let froch bully him. if he would have hung in there a little more and not given himself so much distance trying to get out of the way, he would have landed more and maybe even hurt froch more than once.

Froch is a harder opponent for Ward than Kessler due to his style. With Froch, Ward would have to think. He couldn't just walk right in and bully Froch, he would have to use more of his skills.

And Ward is good enough to win a clear decision, but he may not win this fight without at least knowing that he was in a fight.

the only way he's gonna know he's in a fight against froch is when froch rabbit punches the **** out of him every time he holds. other than that, i really don't see froch landing clean at all.

Ward will make Froch look like an amateur.

Ward son's Froch. Froch loses but probably comes out a better boxer for it. I think a guy like Froch will be much more dangerous after he loses his 0...

Exactly. You took the words right from my keyboard. Dirrell's balance seems a bit awkward. Ward is brilliant in knowing his distance....when he's in or out of punching range. That gives him the ability and confidence to be aggressive, something Dirrell could use a little bit of.

I think Froch serves Ward better than Kessler. It was widely known that Kessler was stylistically the worst draw for Ward. I foresee Ward landing at will if he and Froch ever fight.

....says the one from Oakland, CA. Ward might have to hit Froch with a baseball bat to get him out of there. If he scores enough during target practice there's always a chance of a stoppage from the mass accumulation of punches. If not a win by KO/TKO, a full 12 round sweep is quite feasible. By the way, did you happen to make it out to Oracle Arena last Saturday?
