Hopkins hadn't had a good impressive victory in a while and Trinidad was on a rampage. He had shown vunerability to being outboxed in a controversial win just a few fights ago but everyone forgot about that because of his recent devasting wins over top opponents. Problem is that he was going up against a guy that was bigger, stronger and smarter than him in the ring and was underrated and could take a shot. I'll never forget the point in the fight when Tito landed a big right hand right on Hopkins face and Hopkins didn't even blink. It seemed to me that it wasn't until he looked at Tito's face that he realized that the shot was supposed to hurt and so he fired back to make it clear that he wasn't going to be another lay down victim holding on for dear life. The same thing is happening now. Floyd is being under rated and Pacquiao is on a rampage wrecking everyone he gets in the ring with. WHen Floyd has him hopping around on one foot trying to connect and trying to work his way inside that long reach, he'll start to panic. He'll wind up and land what he'll think is a big shot and Floyd will just fire back and at that point it'll just be a matter of time. We will see either a wide UD or even a late stoppage for floyd.
IMO anyone out there saying that this is a 50/50 fight or that pac has anything more than a punchers chance is underrating floyd. He has shown time and again that coming at him the way pac comes at opponents will get you hurt. With the exception of the Castillo fight like 10 years ago floyd hasn't struggles with anyone that has that kind of style. He can counter you and he can hurt you.

What other way can floyd win. He either has to outbox him or sit and trade with him. I think we all know that he will not be sitting and trading and if he decides to box I just can't imagine how anyone thinks pacquiao has a chance.

it really isn't. and tito was definitely not on the level of pac. this fight is COMPLETELY different, although i do agree with the TS there are some similarities. no one knows who will win this fight. any prediction is at best an (educated or not) guess. it could easily go either way as we have really never seen either guy tested at this weight at this time.
The only difference is Floyd is a welterweight that doesn't fight welterweights. And instead of fighting top competition in Cotto, SSM, Margarito, or Williams at 154, he fought Ricky Hatton (JWW) and Marquez (36-year-old LW). So yes this is a lot like Trinidad vs. Hopkins except neither is a coward or fraud like Floyd, and neither Trinidad or Hopkins had fans as ******ed and uneducated about boxing as Floyd.
There's nothing in common with the fighters at all, other than Tito moving up. Big deal, everyone eventually moves up. Pac's competition and wins is greater than Tito's and his overall skillset is greater than Tito's.
