Here's what people such as yourself misunderstand about MMA. MMA's goal is to find what works in a real fight. The rules are in place only to make sure the "re-usability" of fighters. MMA is as close as it can get to a fight with no rules that can assure a career for a fighter and give him the ability to get better.
This isn't about whose stand up is better or whose grappling is better it is all about who can effectively beat other opponents. Lesnar is **** for technique but he showed us that solid grappling and huge size is a BIG factor in a fight. Boxing on the other hand will show you that speed and technique is more important than size as we saw in Valuev vs Haye or Valuev vs Chagaev.
Again, MMA's goal is to find what works when there is most freedom between two fighters.

That said, Mariusz success(being he goes far, rather than win here and there) will show that you need general understanding of grappling and some striking and be the strongest mofo on the planet to succeed in fighting with little rules.

That guy looks like an absolute BEAST! If he manages to have decent stamina and develop some skills he might be interesting to watch.

Mariusz just went for his sixth WSM in September, I will not spoil the result for those of you who care or have not looked it up as of yet. ESPN will be showing the contest in late December.

In that contest Mariusz weighed around 315, so I am curious too see what his weight will be for his first MMA fight less than 3 months later. I wish him the best of luck.

I'm sure that GSP is a BB in kyokushin karate (and was on his UFC debut) which COULD mean that it isn't the worst style of karate for Mariusz to hold a black belt in (when pursuing an mma career).

I would to!! He could prove to be a very interesting addition to the heavyweight ranks and I wish him well (I believe that he has won his first 6 fights) but he does still need a 2-3 years serious mma training and to fight some far higher calibre opponents before he should be even considered as an opponent for any of those guys, doesn't he?
