    :-(

    Astonishing !

Well, actually, maybe astonishing is a bit strong because I never scored any of the 3 fights for Barrera, I did give him a draw in the 3rd fight tho.

Ps. Morales handily won fight 2 so the emoticon is justified, how anyone sees anything other than a Morales win in fight 2 stuns me.

Please, enough with the bull****, Pacquiao & Mayweather are hands down the fighters of the decade, there is a clear gap between those 2 & Hopkins.

Pac is ahead of Floyd on achievements which usually = greatness.
Floyd is simply a better fighter skillwise which usually = best.

So for this particular thread, Mayweather should be no1 on any reasonable list.

    :good

Any explanation as to why Hopkins isn't? I just want to hear a good argument.

You didn't score either fight 1 or 3 for Barrera, even though it's widely accepted that Morales lost both encounters. Take those Morales glasses off, mate.

Cotto has been knocked out twice, once by lesser opposition, and has damn right struggled with many fighters, including Torres, Judah, and Clottey. Castillo established himself, in my view, as the best Lightweight of the decade with other fighters like Corrales and Casamayor also campaigning. Cotto is a Corrales level fighter for me, his best win came against Mosley...in a tight decision that could have gone either way. He fought the best, and he's been found wanting a little bit. No place for Miguel I'm afraid.

Neither Vitali or Wlad have been any good fighters since Lewis' reign, let's be honest. They are dominating a terrible, out of shape division...they ain't no P4P entrants.

Hatton has been knocked out in his two toughest fights, and his best win came against Kosta Tyszu, who would retire shortly after. Castillo has a better resume in my judgment, and was a more effective fighter at his best.

Anyone who knows how to score a fight and isnt biased knows that Barrera won the first fight, other than Morales fans i havent seen anyone who had that fight for Erik.

All the top boxing mags had Barrera winning and all the commentators from three different channels that i watched the fight had it for Barrera too

Round 9 is a big one for me. I don't see how you can score the round for Erik, when Barrera hurts him...3...times in the round.

    1. Vasquez - Marquez III
    2. Corrales - Castillo I
    3. Gatti - Ward I
    4. Barrera - Morales I

There have been some great fights this decade and the three fights above it were just better im afraid.

Number 1 and 3 are very good fights but for me both are overrated,Castillo-Corrales is in my top 5 best fights but its still not better than the fight i consider the best ever which is Morales-Barrera.

Nope. He had never cracked the Top 10 until he DREW with Pac.

Up to that point, he had two belts at 126, but he won them by beating Mantecas Medina (the true definition of beltholder unworthy of the linear title), and Smoke Gainer.

Not really competition that would get you consideration for the Top 10 P4P List.

Which is what some people don't understand. Marquez has been fighting elite competition since 04. Morales and Barrera since '97 and '98...which would explain his staying power.

Marquez may not have been top 10 but I do remember him being considered one of the best most underrated fighters at the time.
