They'd match up pretty well vs the current lot. Only I see Benn getting stopped by AA. Eubank would have a good chance of outboxing AA. I never cared for Benn and Eubank... but both of them would have KO'd Froch.
its bad form - all day - to compare a fighter who never cracked the international market with a fighter who did but showed more vulnerability because he faced better opposition as a result of that. if eubank was that good - he would have proved it instead of this being a 'what if' discussion just because eubank never put himself on the world stage. it might hurt some british egos to hear this, but if you understand what the difference is between a fighter like ricky hatton (who put all his balls on the line to find out how good he was) and the host of british fighters who never took the chances he did - then you'll understand the difference. dont build up fighters who looked good against less than top opposition in hindisght if they chose not to raise the bar when they were fighting.
SMH...ever since Pavlik lost to B-hop,people completly write off Pavlik,Kelly gets beaten by EVERYBODY now
Mate, I'm the world biggest AA nuthugger, but against a prime Benn he would've a 40:60 chance at best. Against prime Eubank he would've lost 10 out of 10.
Are you an idiot? Eubank didnt crack international stage or didnt crack amaerican stage? Benn-Eubank was watched by more people all over the world than all the Pavlik fights put together. As for competition: Eubank beat Benn, Watson. Also fought Steve Collins & Calzaghe past his prime. Almost beat Carl Thompson at CW...the guy who ktfo Haye. Pavlik has....Taylor?
Eubank, Benn, McLellan = ridiculously over rated on ESB. Probably the only fighters more over rated on ESB than Arthur Abraham.
Hmm..... On one hand I can see Pavlik very easily outworking Eubank. Then again Pavlik is no Michael Watson technically, and Pavlik's style might actually suit Eubank in some ways. Then again, Eubank struggled against inferior come forward fighters too. This is a pick-em, but if I had to bet my life on the result, I'd pick Pavlik.
