Listen to you guys!! This is the reason why Floyd doesn't take any risks.

You guys bash a guy for having the guts to face a dangerous fighter to prove his excellence.

You guys are **** fans, period.

Guzman showed a lot of heart and toughness and shouldn't be scrutinized for it. Neither should the fans who believe in him.

That's what's wrong with this forum.

people used to enter this forum expecting to actually better their boxing knowledge by conversing about boxing topics intelligently. Not anymore...no knows crap about boxing any longer.

It's really sad.

 

This one was bound to be brought up again pretty quickly!

 

Guzman looked superb for 2 rounds before Funeka's jab found a home on the middle of his face for the remainder of the fight. The jab consistently was ripping Guzman in the 3rd which consequently allowed Funeka's right hand to find the target, and that pretty much was the story of the fight.

Guzman however showed enough skills early in the fight and enough heart late in the fight to intrigue me into wanting to see him again at light weight even though it's clear that this in not the ideal division for him.

 

Nobody's bashing Guzman here . . . the hatred is directed towards the thread starters bragging ass.

I'm starting to think T/S is a paid relative of guzman.

Given the fairytale scenario he knocked out Funeka. He is still
not a hall of famer based on beating Funeka!

It looks that Guzrun can't run no more... what a bum..

 

No one is bashing Joan for taking a risk. He deserves credit for taking on Ali....however....Joan needed a win and Ali was not the smartest way to get Joan some much needed ring time and activity after a long lay off.

Joan also is not a GREAT fighter....tecnically or other wise. He's a solid champion....so was David Diaz. Although I feel Joan is by far more talented than David Diaz I feel his ability to reach the highest levels of the sport are similar.

Joan is still one of the best fighters at 135 but that's only b/c the GREAT fighters have left. It's not a very deep division at the moment and the only top or Elite level guy is Ali. He proved that after his fight with Nate in my opinion.

Joan has never proven to me to be great! Or Elite based on what he's done in this sport.

 

Why do you resent him?
